DH and I are celebrating our 13th anniversery at 'Ohanas. DH likes ALL food except bananas. Is there an alternative to the bread pudding with banana foster ala mode? Sounds yummy to me, but the hubby should get a treat as well (He has put up with me for the last 13 years) Side note... we got married on a beach in Maui, so I thought a stay at the Poly would be fitting.

The Bread Pudding is the dessert that is included with the meal but there is a separate dessert menu. Wish I could tell you what's on it but we have always been too full to find out.

I do not remember the dessert menu being to tempting. I just love the Banana's Foster though. Kona has an excellent dessert selection though. You could eat dinner, then walk to Kona for dessert. You can also take the dessert back to your room from Kona, we do that all the time.

They have a seperate dessert menu that you can order something from. Costs extra but may be worth it =)

Thanks everyone,
Like I said DH likes everything else, so I am sure that he could find something on the dessert menu. Just wasn't sure that they offered anything else. Glad they do. Thanks again.

When we were there in Jan they served the sauce separate from the bread pudding and vanilla ice cream. The caramel sauce actually had very tiny bits of banana in it. Enjoy the Poly!

I am not fond of bananas myself. Fortunally there is a sauce that contains the yucky fruit so my bread pudding did not have to be contaminated. It is good stuff. YUM!
Now that I think about it I wonder if they could give you a batch of the sauce without any bananas in it at all. They seem thrown in as an afterthought.

I've been wondering about this, too. I can't STAND bananas! I love every other fruit, though. Funny thing is my Mom CRAVED bananas constantly while pg with me... coincidence?!

I'd like to request some sauce w/o the bananas-- I'm curious if anyone else has done this?

Just curious - can you still order the special desserts like the coconut snowball and the bucket filled with snow cone? Also would it be possible to order the kids Kiddie Kones from Kona (of course pay extra)? I think the bread pudding sounds great but not sure if the kids will like it. We've always gone to Ohana but this is our first time with the new menu (I just know I'll miss the green beans!).
