My husband is going to a Baltimore Orioles Game on May 15, I just realize the Preakness is running the same day. Does anyone know how bad the traffic will be that day? He is coming in from Newark, Delaware and the game starts at 7:00 This will be a side trip as he is going to Dover Speedway the next day

Thanks for any info. and help :hippie::cool1::banana::banana::banana::banana:

The beltway 695 will be bad getting around. Preakness is ridiculous....just be safe leaving the game as soooooo many people get very drunk there and drive home...or at least try to .

However, Preakness is earlier in the day than the O's game. People get to the Preakness early. He really shouldn't encounter too much traffic either way. The race is over before the game even starts. The gates for Preakness open at 8am if that tells you anything.

If your DH is coming from Delaware he shouldn't get caught up in Preakness traffic. I live up towards the Delaware line so I imagine he will take I95 through the new tunnel to get to the stadium. While I95 and I895 may have some volume, I would think anyone on the road leaving the Preakness would be using I83 to I695. Some may bring Eastern Ave out of the city to I895 or I95. The biggest issue would be if there is an accident to mess up traffic.

There aren't any lightrail stops up this way so the only direct access is I95.
