We are thinking about taking the kids there tomorrow. Is it a big place -- one that might take more than an hour or 2 to go through? Is it nice? What kinds of exhibits are there? I checked out their website, but it didn't show a whole lot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't been there in a couple of years, but if you do the dolphin show and all of the floors, its about 3-4 hours. They have a whole new building I've never even been to.

A quick warning, they don't let you take strollers in, so if you have any little ones, be prepared for a sore back!

I think 2-3 hours with the Dolphins show (it depends on your dolphin show time) and saturday crowds. It has been several years since I been there, but there is a children's cove where you can touch a horsecrab (well--it might have change since we took the nephews). I have always took my time in the rainforest exhibit where birds fly and there are other critters around. There is a new frog exhibit and Austrailian exhibit that sounds cool.

By the way, I just noticed you have not one, but two little ones. If you decide your back can not handle the aquarium....consider the Science Center. It's great. We go a couple of times a year. It's fully interactive...dinosaur area includes a "dig", footprints you can sit in, etc... Has a "body noise" section, a pretend heart area, a space adventure area, and the very best of all, an enclosed play room for the kids. The play room has a section for older kids and one for new walkers/crawlers that is separate. Also in the play room are climbing areas, a huge water table adventure, thomas trains, giant legos, etc....

We have family in Baltimore and it's always a must do when we go. It's jam packed with exhibits and the dolphin show is something I wouldn't miss! Be sure to get to the area early for the show so you can get good seats. ;)

I agree with the others that say it's around 3 hours if you do the dolphin show as well and take your time to enjoy everything.

Have a great time. I would love to be up there....only when it's a bit warmer. We love the inner harbor!!

Go and ENJOY!

:) Kelly

I guess since I'm only 5 to 10 min away I can give you some tips as well.

2 to 4 hours depending on pace . It's a great visit. but don't get your hopes up to high on the new exhibit it lacks a bit . Lots of space but not lots of people area. 4 stories tall with just one walking path on 1 level.

I grew up with the animals curators younger brother and the animals are top notch.
