Ok, here's Part 2.
Saturday, 10/28/06
Sea World scheduled
The morning started out pretty chilly at about 58 degrees and raining
. The rain let up prior to us leaving for Sea World and it finally starting warming up. By the time we were ready to leave it was pretty windy and cloudy. Got to Sea World with no problem and it did eventually clear up and was very warm. Joey was able to dress in his Superman costume and go around trick-or-treating. He didn't get as much as I thought he would, but then again there was always MK on the 31st!
We didn't get as much done as I had hoped, but we made sure to catch the Clyde and Seymore show! Tim, the Mime was hillarious and really had the crowd laughing prior to the show starting. The show was great as always and there were even a couple of "bloopers" done by both the trainers and a helper from the audience that had us all in stitches!
We had ressies for Dine with Shamu, which both my DH and I were a bit disappointed with. The dinner buffet was fine, but the entertainment with Shamu lasted about 5-10 minutes. Joey missed the whole thing by being in the restroom. Luckily, I had gotten some pictures, but he missed experiencing it
.
Afterwards, we went to the Believe show and as some have said, it's not that good. Most of it was watching a video and very little with the whales. But as one Sea World employee had said, the whales are being trained for another show. So I guess this is just a type of light work for the whales as they learn the new routines. Overall though, we had a good time.
Sunday 10/29
Magic Kingdom and EMH!
We actually slept a little later that morning and had breakfast later. We just missed the bus going to MK and yet there was still a line waiting for the next bus. My DH overheard someone talk about taking the Epcot bus then transferring to the monorail to MK. Well, we did want to give our son the chance at riding the monorail so we opted to get out of the MK bus line and into the Epcot line where the bus was just pulling up
. Ok, on to Epcot, go through the security bag check, then hop online to the monorail. Changed out at the transportation center and took it straight into MK. We got into MK at around 10, 10:30.
First thing Joey saw was Chip & Dale. I reminded my DH that the characters are usually out for about 20 minutes before needing to take a break. Which is what happened (he did get their autograph during EMH). Joey missed out on getting their autograph in his book, but we saw two characters from Pinochio which he got. I told my DH about the character interaction that most DISers do and that I was also going to do it. He gave me the
at first. Until he started getting into it
.
We hit Adventureland first and headed straight to PotC first then over to LTT for lunch. After lunch we went over to BTM then Splash Mtn, caught the parade at the starting point, then headed over to the Tiki Room, Aladin's Carpet ride and then on the boat ride (sorry, my mind is drawing a blank on the name).
We headed over to Tomorrowland next. Joey couldn't wait to do Buzz Lightyear, so we did that first. I helped him shooting the laser gun and by the end of the ride, we got Ranger First Class. DH got a much higher score than us. Good thing we did Buzz first, because Buzz was over at CoP! We got on line and when it was our turn, I told Buzz that Joey got Ranger First Class. He gave Joey the thumbs up and stamped his autograph book for him.
We did Stitch's Great Escape next, and we were disappointed with that one. The ride (if you can call it that) was very lame and even our son asked when the ride was going to start. IMO, they could have replaced Mission to Mars with something much better. This to me was a complete waste.
Frontierland and Liberty Square were just pass throughs because of other things we wanted to do. I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see the Country Bears, Joey would have liked that one (maybe next time). But I do have my memories from my previous years at Disney. We also skipped Mickey's Toon Town, otherwise we wouldn't be able to get Joey out of there (we saved it for MNSSHP instead).
Thank goodness for EMH! We were able to do all of Fantasyland with hardly any wait times! We even got a very special treat! Mickey and Minnie were both by the carousel! The CM's were telling us that it is very rare for both of them to be together. Joey got their autograph and we got our picture taken with them. We didn't leave MK until 12:15 am and got back to the resort at 1 am. By the time Joey got back to sleep it was between 1 and 1:30 am.
10/30 MGM
8:30 am Character breakfast with JoJo and Little Einsteins
Ok, I felt bad that we got back very late from MK. We let Joey sleep until about 6. DH and I got up at around 5, 5:30 after getting into bed close to 2 am. We got to MGM early which was good because we got seated by 8:10 rather than 8:30. Our son loved meeting the characters! When JoJo came to our table, I told her about the nickname Joey had gotten when he was in daycare (they called him Jo Jo). Well, JoJo was so impressed and signed his autograph book with "To JoJo, love N popcorn, love JoJo"
I was surprised that HV had ice cream for the kids so early in the morning
. And of course, our son wanted his ice cream. But he made it in a way that only a child would think of doing; he put raisin bran cereal on top then went and put cherrios on top
. What a concotion!
Our son got all four Power Ranger autographs which he was very happy to get. However, they tried to get him to pose, and he just wouldn't do it. He just stood there with a big smile looking very proud!
We did the Great Movie Ride and Joey got his second Magical Certificate! The CM did his hand print on the back of a certificate then took us in as VIPs. Would have been great if the lines were long, but it was still early and hardly anybody there yet. But we enjoyed it.
We got an excellent spot for the parade, right in front of the hat. Joey went nuts when he saw Lightening McQueen and Mader!
We went on Star Tours. I just knew both my DH and DS would love this ride! My DH has always wanted to feel like he was inside the movie and got his chance! Our son had only been on one other simulation ride prior to this and he loved Star Tours. He even got Darth Vader's and a Storm trooper's autograph.
We saw the Lights Motor Action show and that was a hit for both my DH and DS! As we were walking towards 50's Prime Time, we happened to catch Indiana Jones as it was starting. Great timing as well as place to be! Our ADRs for Prime Time was at 5 and we were right next door! After the show we went to get our EMH bracelets then headed to Prime Time for dinner.
Prime Time was crowded and we waited about 5-10 minutes (not bad for us, we are used to waiting up to about 45 minutes here in NY at times). Our server's name was Kristy and she was good. Although, we didn't interact with her too much. Joey did eat most of his chicken nuggets because Kristy kept looking at him when she passed by and said, "Finish those chicken nuggets!"
Got him to eat better than we ever could! She did get out of character once though because Joey was so tired he fell asleep curled up on the chair with his head on Daddy's lap. The most uncomfortable position IMO, but he managed it! We only stayed till 9 pm then headed back to the room.
10/31 AK and MK for MNSSHP
Last day
We had another character breakfast scheduled for 8 am for Donald's Breakfastosauras which he loved. DH and DS loved AK. However, I wasn't to happy with it. I'm not the type for zoos and animals to begin with. DH and DS went on Kali Rapids and got wet. I didn't want to get wet so I opted to wait for them. We did the train around Raifiki's and when the train stopped to let off and pick up, CM Sundee got on. Her and DH got into talking about EE and us not sure if Joey was tall enough for it. I posted this on the Welcome to the DIS Boards forum, so I'll make this short. Sundee gave us each Honorary Citizen of the Walt Disney World Resort buttons which came in handy. Joey was 2 inches too short for EE so CM Kimberly gave us a Rider Switch FP. Afterwards, I thanked her and she gave us a behind the scene look at the video monitering system for the track layout. Joey got his third certificate for this one.
We caught the parade and Joey got
by one of the puppeteers. A CM was working a big lizard type of puppet and he turned and pulled the lever for the tongue to shoot out right at Joey! He jumped back about 2 feet
! We were all laughing so hard! We didn't stay for EMH and went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner then back to Pop to get ready for MNSSHP!
MNSSHP: Joey got dressed in his Superman costume and I got dressed in my medieval garb (left over from my Sci-Fi convention days). DH opted not to dress up for halloween. We were there for about an hour and went to a few candy stations and did two rides: Buzz and the race track. We then headed over to Mickey's Toon Town to get more candy and have Joey's face painted as Goofy. He was in it for about 10 minutes when he fell asleep for the night
. Daddy did the trick-or-treating for him. Joey missed the parade but we got plenty of pictures and a few videos with our digital camera. Our camcorder went on the fritz again so I couldn't video tape it
. DH and I took turns on PotC. I watched Joey while he went then we switched. Got back to the resort and I started packing to go home the next day (unfortunately).
Overall we had a great time, it just wasn't long enough. The only thing I didn't like was eating breakfast at Everything Pop. The breakfasts tasted old. I understand they have to make a lot for the amount of people and the food does sit there for a bit because of it. But I wasn't too fond of it.
We are very thankful that we had the DDP! Planet Hollywood was $101 and Coral Reef was $112. So, the DDP was a huge advantage for us! We used TS's everyday and used most of the QS's for breakfast and lunch at MK, MGM and AK.
Ok, now here's the kicker! While planning this whole trip, making the ADRs and going on the DIS boards, my sweet DH was getting tired of me talking about Disney and would
at me. Well, once we got down there, he was thankful of all the planning and even said to me on the last day, "So, when are we going to start to plan the next trip?"
Although, we did agree on one thing. The next time, we won't be doing as many Table Service meals. The only reason why I did it was to make up for the previous times where I wasn't able to do it with my parents and my brother. I wanted to experience it for the first time.
