I'm going on Dream 3 Night on Feb 17-20 (next week). I was originally planning to stay on the ship at Nassau but I just saw this Port Adventure for Balmoral Private Island Beach Day. Has anyone done this? Is it worth getting off the ship for 1/2 day?

Last February, we did the 4 Night and did the half Day Blue Lagoon Beach Day.

My sister had the opportunity to do it (CMs do occasionally) and loved it. Her pics were beautiful.

Is it really an ocean? When we went to Blue Lagoon, I wasn't very impressed with the water or beach, but my DD loved it and we enjoyed walking around and looking at the dolphins and sting rays (we didn't get the dophin interaction package).

Which Beach at Blue Lagoon? The lagoon or the quiet beach behind the BBQ?

Huh?! I didn't know there were two different parts. We walked off the ship, turned left and walked down the long dock, then walked the furthest part of the beach away from the boat.

Oh, and for clarification, I was able to stand in the water the entire time so it was definitely a Lagoon.

Is Balmoral a real beach with ocean?

I could not tell from her pictures. I. An say that I have never experienced any Caribbean beach to really feel "ocean"-y like the Atlantic or Pacific.

Has anyone been to Balmoral Beach? Is it worth the price to go there? Or should we just stay on the ship?

There is a wonderful quiet beach behind the BBQ (it's not the lagoon, it's a real beach and the ocean. There was a lot of waves... ) DH and I spent most of our time there. But you have to explore the island in order to find it.

I also am curious to know about Balmoral Island. I also saw on the Balmoral Island Web site that they have dolphin swims and other activities but the DCL excursions do not include these extra activities. Has anyone done the dolphin swim on Balmoral Island? Is it something that can be done via DCL, or does it have to be booked separately? If booked separately, do you also have to book the DCL excursion in order to get to Balmoral Island?
