Balalalala! BaymaxDLR's Disneyland Resort Adventures Chapter 1 *Day 1 complete*

I love your profile pic! That is too cute!!

Thanks! This is actually a ride photo from two years ago that I had made into a cartoon. The image is on our shirts that we wore on day 4 (which I'll be writing about next) and on day one from our 2014 trip.

What a cool idea and a fun time so far!

We have our first trip to DLR coming up in October and are staying at the HoJo - hoping to take in some good tips:thumbsup2

I can't take credit for the idea, but I can say that the lady who started Baymax on his journey is absolutely adorable! I want to move to Orlando and be her BFF!

We really like the Hojo. The walk is a bit of a pain, though. This year I booked early enough to get a Kid's suite with the AP discount, so it was a great deal. Having 2 bathrooms was fantastic! We did a split stay between HOJO and GCH this trip and between HOJO and DLH last trip. I don't really like packing and switching hotels half way through our trip, but it was a great money saver, especially since we did two non-disney activities on this trip. I'm not going to focus this TR on tips and hotels and such, since this is just for Baymax, but my other two trips reports can give you a lot of tips.

Time to get back to Baymax's trip report! I haven't forgotten about him... I've just been busy planning our March break trip to Oahu, including 5 nights at Aulani!

Day 4: Saturday, August 15

Our day started out WAY too early! I think my alarm woke me up at 5:15am! We got all packed up at the HOJO and called for a cab to come pick us up (Bryan dropped off the rental car the night before because he didn't want to deal with returning it that morning.)

Wake up Baymax! It's time to go to the Grand Californian Hotel!

The cab finally arrived and dropped us off at the Grand Californian. Bryan dealt with the luggage and I got in line to check in. There was one man in front of me in line and one person being helped at the desk. The man ahead of me was equally as impatient as I was and eager to get to 7am Magic Morning! I believe it was 6:30am at this point. Luckily the kids were entertained by the short classic disney movies playing in the lobby.

We left the lobby at 6:50am with our room keys in hand and headed to Disneyland!

We got in line at gate 14 just as they were opening the gates, then we spent a good half of our Magic Morning waiting in line for Peter Pan.

Once we returned from Neverland, we embarked on an intergalactic mission

Unfortunately, I can't tell you where we went on Star Tours, since I always just hold on tight and close my eyes on this ride! The kids appreciate that I come along on this one, but I just try my best not to throw up.

Baymax still had some unfinished intergalactic business, so he grabbed an Astroblaster and took on Zurg!

Thanks for defending the Universe Baymax!

Baymax's is quite tHe adventurer!!

I love the idea of Baymax tagging along for your trip

Saturday Morning (cont)

We left Tomorrowland and headed towards Big Thunder Mountain railroad, cutting through the new Fantasy Fair area. We noticed that the princess meet n greet had a very short line, so we jumped in. We've been tricked by the 15 minute wait sign before and waited nearly 30 minutes to see the princesses on our last trip, so we've gotten pretty good at judging the line-up. We saw three families in line, so we knew it would be about a 5 to 10 minute wait. As we waited, we introduced Baymax to the CMs at the entrance to the Royal Hall. They were very excited to hear about Baymax. Unfortunately, when it was our turn to see Snow White, she didn't share their enthusiasm. I asked her to hold Baymax for the picture and she passed him off to Gavin saying "Here, you hold him."

Cinderella wasn't all that enthusiastic either.

I wish I could say that Belle turned it around for the princesses, but she was only slightly more excited than the other two. At least she held him for the picture.

After Baymax's not so royal welcome, we continued on to Big Thuder Mountain Railroad.

It was nearing 9am, on an 8am opening, so we headed towards the ToonTown gates and awaited their opening.

Saturday 9am
We waited for about 5 minutes for ToonTown to open. We have never gone to ToonTown right as it opened, and I would highly recommend this to anyone else who hasn't. All of the characters came out and gave high 5's and hugs, then they made their way to their meet n greet locations. Minnie Mouse found the cutest little 2 year old girl in a Minnie Mouse costume and brought her to her house. We followed behind them, knowing that the line to see Minnie would only grow throughout the day.

The little girl had a large number of grown ups with her, so it took quite a while for them to meet with Minnie. So we took our time exploring Minnie's house.

Minnie was much more interactive than the princesses. Too bad she is the only one in this picture not looking at the right camera!

Then we went next door and met the Big Cheese himself! He was standing in the front room of his house, which I have never seen him do before. I would have much rather gone down to his studio and had a photopass photographer take the picture, but he wasn't doing that at this time of the day.

We then took a spin on Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin.

As we exited the ride we spotted Pluto. Baymax got a little too up close and personal with Pluto!

We saw two CMs standing around with no character, so we asked them who was coming, and they said Goofy would be returning soon, so we waited for him. At this point, Gavin noticed the Pluto had signed his Autograph book on the back of a page and he was very upset. I told him that it wasn't a big deal, but the CM waiting for Goofy said that Pluto made a mistake and took Gavin to see Pluto and got him to sign the book properly!

Finally Goofy arrived.

We had had our fill of Toontown (which for me, doesn't take long!) and headed out. No trips to the emergency room this time, so that makes another successful morning in Toon Town! (If you don't know what I mean, or why I have anxiety in Toon Town, take a look at the first page of my 2013 TR.)

Poor Baymax first he gets no love from the princesses and then Pluto tries to eat him :( Great character pics though
