The Bahamas just updated their website. It used to say that cruise visitors age 12 and up were required to be vaccinated, and now it says age 2 and up. Is this new information correct?
Right? They literally just changed the requirements. Wonder what all the other cruise lines will do as well.oh boy...DCL will have fun with this: (click on Cruise Passengers from the link below)
Please note: All cruise ship passengers ages 2 and older must be fully vaccinated to enter a port in The Bahamas, including a cruise line’s private island. Any person who is ineligible for the COVID-19 vaccination due to medical contraindications is exempt from this requirement.
And it doesn't mention a date when this takes effect...?Right? They literally just changed the requirements. Wonder what all the other cruise lines will do as well.
Yes. It specifically mentions private islands.Would this include castaway cay if otherwise no loss
They allow for a medical exemption. This is right below that same message----seems like double speak!!
- Effective 19 June 2022, all unvaccinated travellers ages 2 and older will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test — either a negative RT-PCR test or a Rapid Antigen test — taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to travel and present the negative test results at check-in before travel to The Bahamas.
It might also be a distinction between "allowed to sail to the Bahamas" and "allowed to get off the ship at a Bahamian port".They allow for a medical exemption.
I too think it might be a typo.I'm wondering it it's a typo because it's always said "12" and now suddenly it says "2" without saying anywhere that their policy has changed. Also, on Monday I read an article that said the Bahamas is going to loosen vaccination restrictions soon (if that article was correct).
It looks like the Bahamas (which includes Castaway Cay) now says okay if you’re not vaccinated, but Disney still requires that 12&up be vaccinated for now.It would be so great to know if they've changed the requirements including Castaway Cay. Considering booking a VGT discount on the Dream for the holidays but one member of my family is not vaccinated and she doesn't have a medical exemption, she's happy to test but doesn't want to get the jab.
