BAHAMAS food....HELP!

I am throwing my brother and his bride to be a pre-wedding party.

We want the food to be in the Theme of where they will be Honeymooning .... in the Bahamas.

Could you help give me ideas for a menu....

what is served there?! Never been and have no idea..

All I remember from the Bahamas is Conch Fritters. Not sure if you can find conch here in the states. How about some of those Carribean Jerk marinades for chicken? Bahama Mama drinks?

I would imagine that rum plays a part in a Bahamamama. You might try a google search on that one.

Conch is a shell fish...you know those shells that you put up to your ear and hear the ocean? Thats a conch shell. They make deep fried fritters...like a hush puppy/popcorn chicken thing out of the insides. It sounds horrible, but they're really quite good. Old Key West at WDW sells them at their snack bar. So does the Vero Beach resort if I remember correctly. There is usually a dipping sauce that comes with them.

Any seafood gumbo soup would be appropriate also.

TO paraphrase: seafood/fish grilled or stewed, peas (who knew?) and rum

I would imagine jerk spiced grilled meat would be appropriate as well, though you may need to order it online. I'm not sure if you could buy it at the local Safeway.

I figured it would be seafood, but alot of people don't like seafood, so I will also have to plan a variety of other dishes to please all palates(sp?)
