I have a neck and shoulder injury it doesn't stop me from much except carrying stuff including my purse, water bottle etc soooo when we have gone to parks in past I have a stroller that i bring to put my stuff in ( i have alot cause im also diabetic so Icarry supplies and snacks) My hubby helps load and unload from busses etc and we usually never leave a closing with it and ride busses..

we are going to MNSSHP and im torn what to do hubby will not be there just me a DD she can help but not much. I was thinking of just renting a disney stroller to put stuff in but there styles would not provent my bags from falling out and the stroller will tip.. sooo any ideas?? can I get a special permit like to bring a back pack or bag with wheels? I though of a walker with a seat but have not found one that I can afford!

I also have considered lockers but the back tracking will kill me or do I just bring my stroller and tick off someone on busses when we leave as I take up extra room??

You don't need a special permit for a backpack, so I'd just go with that.

I think the OP is asking about backpacks on wheels, which Disney does not allow.

OP - I do not see Disney letting you use any of the bags with wheels as they really dislike anything that has to be pulled behind as it can be a hazard. I would suggest to keep looking for a rollator or to bring the stroller. Once folded for the bus, both will take up room, but at least you would have somthing to put your items in for the walk from the bus to the entrance that you would not if you rented when you ger to MK.

Sorry. I read it as either a backpack OR a bag with wheels (not backpack with wheels or a bag with wheels).

Like the PP, I think it is unlikely that they'd allow it. I know that others have not been able to bring in other "pull wheel" items.

Just keep in mind that they won't allow you to leave the stroller open on the bus - you will have to remove the bags and fold the stroller. Since any kind of bag with wheels is off-limits, I think the stroller is your best option but it will need to be folded on the bus.

Enjoy your vacation!

Could you use a bag that goes around your waist? If you go to a camping store larger ones that have pockets for two water bottles and can hold a lot of stuff.

I got a multi-pocketed traveler's jacket with zip on/off sleeves (like a fishing vest) to carry lots of stuff in. Magellan's travelers' catalog has them...The thing must have twenty pockets of various sizes....now where did I put that E-ticket?.....:happytv:

These are large clips (carabiner style) where you can attach bags to handles of strollers and such. This should prevent anything from falling out of a stroller including Disney ones. I believe they run about $6 or $7 dollars for a 2 pack; I have found them at Wal Mart. It would make it possible to go with a Disney stroller if you really need one for the evening.

Also, your DD could probably do a smaller backpack (she probably does one for school, anyway) and get by doing the regular style backpack on her shoulders without the wheels. This is not all day at the park; so, I think this is manageable. You need to keep it at a minimum with what you bring for an evening. You probably won't be there for more than 6 to 7 hours, anyway with MNSSHP; unless, you are diehards about it.

I would do an early supper (late lunch) before getting to the parks. This will save money at the parks; you won't be so hungry. Then, you might be able to take care of all your medical needs with diabetes before going there. Consult your doctor about changing your schedule a little bit with meals and so forth to make sure it's okay for you.

The first aid center will hold your diabetic supplies; snacks they may not be willing to do. Instead of snacks you may be able to use glucose tablets (check with your doctor) instead for an evening. These are cheap to buy and easy to carry. I would think if you wore slacks with pockets a snack in each pocket should be enough for an evening, anyway. Your DD could do the same. As stated before there are jackets and special clothing that can help hold items, too. If you are doing a shot at the park for diabetes you should only need to do it once in your day there; so, just plan your day accordingly and get back to first aid to do it when it's time. You can even get a Disney quick service meal to go beforehand if the timing of the shot is critical for eating. I know there are shots that act in 5 minutes and there are some that take at least an half hour before you can eat. Frankly, I think for one day I would bite the bullet and get snacks at the park rather than carrying them. This includes getting water at the parks. We drink tap water at Disney and Disney will give you a cup of water everywhere they have it available. If you wear a belt with your slacks you can use hooks for water that way, as well. You just need to be a bit creative with what you do for an evening and you will probably not need a stroller or a backpack.

Yeah I have a large fanny pack that i sometimes use when we go to bUSCH GARDENS just for a few hrs or so maybe i can fit it all in lol slacks and a vest are a no for me as I am always hot! lol and we go all yr lol I have been trying to be creative with bags and see what I can leave out or not! I have the hooks I use them on my stroller to keep bags from falling out now! lol thanks

Have you tried using a sling bag? One of the ones that is like a back pac, they are about half the size though, and only go over one shoulder? You can change the side the strap goes on the bag, which means you can use which ever shoulder you want. I used one for carrying my DSLR camera and lens when travelling in Vancouver and Alaska, and had it on for over 8 hrs, and felt no strain. I have neck issues, definitely not comparing to what you may deal with, but this type of bag didn't give me any problems.

Maybe something to look at? And maybe instead of a full purse, try downsizing with a bag. Just a small wallet with only the necessary cards. KTTW, and not much else. A little money. Camera.

Have your daughter carry a small bag if she can. Something really small. A few snacks. And to save yourself, just don't carry drinks around. They can weigh a lot when pulling on your neck, it's just not worth it. Ask for a glass of cold water at CS.

Good luck deciding, and hoping you find something that is pain free!!

just not as big:)

I second the idea of a cross body bag. I used one to go to school when I was using crutches all the time. It worked well and the one that I have also had a strap that goes around the waist to keep it from swiveling around and closer to the body.
