Does anyone have any suggestions for a bag to carry things in other than a fanny pack? This is for me but also for my DD8. I asked her if she wanted a fanny pack and she looked at me like I was crazy. I guess that age set thinks they are very "uncool". I don't think a fanny pack will be big enough to carry all I need and I don't think a purse would be practical. HELP :)

I think I'm going to end up taking a beach bag (size of a shoulder tote). I like the beach bag because it's sort of a mesh and won't get as dirty as a cloth bag. Plus my husband can take a turn carrying it. It's been on a lot of cruises. Very handy.

Well based on threads here I went thru mousesavers.com and went to ebags.com and ordered the baggalini - it is a "back pack" kinda, sorta, not really - it goes over the one arm, bag on back but the strap is over the chest - it has lots of great pockets - and outside pocket to put water bottle - it was $24 shipped I believe...

Then another poster raved about the travel bag from ricksteves.com - so went there - and bought that one too - I wasnt crazy about the bagallini going over my chest - but dd 9 thinks its great and took it over!!

(the rick steve's one the material is so lightweight - hard to descrive the soft feeling, it will easily roll up!!)

I bought a Travelon bag from QVC. Check out their web site a do a search and you will find a nice collection. The one I ended up getting has a zipper on the bottom to expand the bag if overfilled, it has a strap that goes across the chest leaving your arms free. It also has a detachable shoulder strap so the 'purse' part can clip on your belt. It comes in a variety of colors. :thumbsup2

For my DD11 I bought a mini backpack at target (eddie bauer) it has different pockets and compartments and very light weight to carry in the parks.

I have an eddie bauer shoulder bag. They sell them in lots of sizes (mine is about 10 inches tall). It has a long enough strap that I wear it over my shoulder and across my chest. I have little ones so I still have a diaper bag. But I use this for my camera, wallet, sunglasses, keys/fast passes, etc. It is nice to have something small enough to take on rides with me easily. It also is rugged and black so I don't have to worry about it getting dirty. THey sell bigger sizes (my mom has a larger one) so if this is too small there might be others. JJ

I took a backpack that I bought at Target when we went in March of 2005. It worked great and we all took turns carrying it. It fit in all the rides and held alot of stuff. princess:

Well, pre-kid I always just brought a back pack and that was plenty. But now that I have to carry diapers, toys, snacks, extra clothes, etc....I bring a small duffell bag and just keep it in the basket in the bottom of the stroller. It works for us!
