The night before, I had seriously considered canceling my morning reservation and sleeping in. However, our plans for the week did not include AK for another week. So I bravely woke when my alarm went off and quickly scooted off to.
Arriving there though did not mean I was gong to go into the park. I first had breakfast plans. My reservation was for 8:30 am at RFC (so I had to leave the room about 7:45am... originally, I put that I had the ADR at 7:45. I need to take better notes!!) and I think I could have shown up any time and been seated. It seemed very empty. I was happy to get a table here.
In looking at the menu, I knew that they had a version of what they called tonga toast.

not sure if it is quite the same and I wasn't sure if I was wanting something that sweet first thing. I opted for this
It was very yummy. Not too sweet and the coffee helped to wake me up. Used my discount to pay... and I was off and on my way in no time.
It was then time to actually enter the park. Su-Lynn and I had decided to meet up at Kilimanjaro safari. I think they had fast passes and I was just going to ride. Steve (her dh) and her sister were not with her when she first got to where I was. This gave us a little time to chat and for her to help me with my technical difficulties regarding my phone.

Our dismeet was short but sweet and of course we had to get a picture.
Then we parted ways and I got in line for the safari.
Now, this was an odd ride. I have NEVER gone so fast on this ride. It was kinda funny. Despite how fast the driver went (I am not kidding, he didn't slow for ANYTHING) I got some pictures.

Periodically, I texted with Ashley to find out where they were and to say what I was doing. I let her know I was on a mission to find someone. Now, first I figured it was a long shot. Second, I was doing it to to make someone happy. My dear soon to be dil has been missing her life long bff. This bff is the maid of honor to be at the wedding. She recently became a cast member down in AK. This has been hard on Kimberly. So I thought I would go and get a picture to send to her. Kinda seems like a wild goose chase, yes? Well, I knew what ride she worked at. I figured that was a good starting point. There was still a good chance she wouldn't be working... or around.. .or something. Still as I said - heading to the ride I knew she worked at was a place to start so off to Kali River I went. Imagine how lucky I was that this was in fact the day she was working AND low and behold there she was greeting guests.

We were able to chat a bit in between her greeting guests and making sure small guests were not too small to ride.
Mission accomplished... I got the pic to send to Kimberly. (now, just disregard the fact you can see up my nose

) She won't be there for too much longer. January she comes home.
Next I texted Ashley to ask if she rode this ride.
The response was something along the lines of "not even" She encouraged me to go by myself, but I need moral support to ride that mountain. So I decided it can wait until January.
Instead, I decided to go here.

I love that ride. No one else in my family is a fan, but I really think it ranks up there.
