Bagless-how easy is it to find hand sanitizer in the park.

My plan is to go bagless for our days at Universal studios. I have a almost 13-year-old and a 12-year-old, so I'm kind of beyond the point of carrying half my house in my pocketbook. I have cargo shorts with some decent pockets and I was just going to use the bare necessities in those. My question is, how easy is it to find hand sanitizer throughout the parks? My life would be a lot easier if I didn't have to carry a little jar of it with me everywhere. But if there's space far apart and not easy to come by, I'm right at least get the sanitizing hand wipes.

They were usually empty when we went in June. I was surprised when we came across a dispenser that had some.

Funny, they were almost everywhere and almost always functional in Nov - I wonder if they are getting more use now that Universal isn't squirting everyone before each ride?

Thanks, I'll pack a whole ton of sanitizing Lysol hand wipes. I have a feeling they'll go in my pockets a lot better than the jars will, and less chance of leaking. It's not like I have to carry a whole lot. Just my phone, and maybe a stick of sunscreen for my Irish husband 🤣.

Agreed! We were there June 12-19. My husband would always try them and maybe one out of five had actual sanitizer in it. LOL. I stopped trying after like day 2 because I felt stupid always putting my hand out and....nothing... HA! We did have a small bottle in the fanny pack, so it's all good.

That’s funny. I was going to guess 1 out of five in my original post. And my husband was also the one to check until we gave up, too!

Universal/IOA went from squirting everyone's hands with hand sanitizer before every ride and hand sanitizer dispensers all over, to hardly any to be found almost overnight. Pack your own. I found a fanny pack was very useful for phone, keys, lip balm, hand sanitizers and tickets. Many rides provide lockers that are easy to use. Some rides allowed fanny packs(Hagrids, Mummy, Gringotts, JP River). A few made you use a locker even for things that fit in the pocket and everyone had to go through a metal detector(Hulk, Velocicoaster, Rip, Ride Rockit).

I've done fanny packs and purses and bags enough times at theme parks where I found I really really prefer to just go bagless. It makes it a lot quicker to go through security, and a lot more sane for me. That way my kids don't ask me to become the mule. Don't need keys, Don't really need to lip balm, and I can easily fit the hand sanitizer in my pocket. I have a lanyard pouch that can hold the tickets. And then my phone fits in my other pocket. 😁

To put it into perspective, I don't even use a purse in my everyday life anymore. My phone case has a cell phone and ID slot in it. I pretty much put my keys in one pocket, my phone in my other pocket, and off I go.

Have a great time KrzyKtty! Reading your post, I realize I was the mule and I didn't even know it. My kids were running around bagless and I never thought about how it would feel, not being the bag lady. Hmmm, time to rethink my theme park strategy. :scratchin

I'm to the point where I feel like I'm forgetting something if I don't have a bag. LOL.
