baggage and ME help needed please

I have searched the boards and am not sure of the answer to this question. I am flying Southwest to WDW since I am using points. My wife and 2 kids will be on United (also using mileage). We are planning on checking 2 suitcases--I will check the baggage with me on Southwest since it is free. I get into Orlando around 5 pm and wife and kids land about 6:30 pm. I was thinking of getting a rental car and having my wife/kids take ME and meet me at the hotel. If we tag our bags, will they get delivered to the hotel since I did not take ME? My wife and kids will be on ME (but not until about 1.5 hours after I land). I would like for ME to handle the luggage so that I don't have to worry about it. Will this plan work? Any advice? Yes it will work, as long as all four are registered for DME, you use the two luggage tags that have your wife and son's name on the tag. DME goes by the bar code on the tags anyway, not by the name. Make sure your wife has the DME voucher, which will be scanned when she gets to the DME area. They will ask her how many bags, and she will say 2, then get on the bus with the kids and meet you at the resort. She needs the voucher to get on the bus.
