Bad week on the roads in Minnesota--way too many accidents

This past week has been horrible, 15 people dead, most of them teenagers, in car accidents. There was one yesterday on the route many kids from our high school take to get to golf practice so we were pretty scared that some of the golf team might be involved-they were not.

We've had sad seasons like that around here, that's one reason why the all-night grad parties are so big. About two or three years ago in June four girls with strong ties to our local high school, some were just graduating, some were graduates from the hs and were in college and two of which were cousins, were involved in a horrific crash and only the driver survived. It was awful, they had crossed a dividing-line and illegally merged at high speed in front of a tractor-trailer. A joint-funeral was held for two of the girls, the cousins, at a church I used to go to.

And there have also been some accidents where kids have been hurrying back to school after being away for lunch and gotten involved in bad crashes...so sad.
