So looking back, it was partly my own fault. I checked in at 4pm. Upon entering the unit (building 7 ground floor) I spotted a large laundry basket full of laundry that looked like it had been removed from the dryer. It was full of sheets. I figured the cleaning person had forgotten it. I also noticed the dishwasher full of clean dishes and a few minor things out of place. There was no welcome package (toiletries, coffee, paper products etc). But the beds looked made, clean towels were hung and it generally looked clean. I did go to the front desk and report the laundry basket and the missing products. The desk clerk asked if I wanted a new unit, I said only if I could get a ground floor unit like I had, but he didn't mention a new unit again after that. Someone (looked like a couple managers) came immediately to the room and removed the basket. A few minutes later the head of housekeeping called from his home to apologize.
OK, now all seemed well. It was time to go to bed. My son went to his bedroom, I went to mine, he then knocked on my door. There weren't any sheets on his bed! The bed looked made but under the bedspread was NOTHING! There were no sheets in his closet so I gave him the ones in my closet even though they were king size. A little while later I went to get into bed and low and behold I had no sheets (or pillowcases). I called the front desk, it was now 11pm. This was already late for me as I retire early. They said they would send sheets. At 11:20 I called again. They offered me another room. My son was already asleep, I just wanted sheets, please, I'll pick them up myself. No, can't do that. They needed security to unlock the room where the sheets were and they were busy. I was sleepy, please get me some sheets. At 11:50, a man finally appeared with 1 sheet, 1 pillow with pillowcase and a bag of blankets. I explained again I needed 2 sheets. I kept the 1 sheet and the pillow while he went to get more. He came back with 2 more sheets (no pillowcases so I'm glad I kept the one). I was very frustrated about the whole thing. If I had known that my sheets were in the laundry basket I would have kept it.
I can see how mistakes can happen. But I can't excuse the fact that it took so long to get me the sheets. Luckily I was only staying one night. I'm going to be emailing my complaints to CP. Anybody have the email address?

That is terrible but to be honest I think it would have been handled the same way anywhere you were...housekeeping is light at that time of night. Yes it shouldnt have happened in the first place but again I know how housekeeping can be in that area

I agree with the above poster. It shouldn't have happened. I'm sure it was just an oversite on housekeepings part.Hopefully the rest of your stay will go without incident.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience there. I, too, believe it was an unfortunate oversight on the part of housekeeping. As you were only staying one night, perhaps CP felt the best, quickest solution was to offer you another unit. We are scheduled to stay there in early April...I'll be sure to check the unit as soon as we arrive, and prior to unloading the van. Thank you for posting your experience!

As I said, I understand it was just a mistake and I'm not upset at housekeeping. What bothered me was the fact that it took almost an hour to get a set of sheets. I was perfectly willing to go to the front desk and pick them up myself. I just desparately needed some sleep. Perhaps the front desk should have a key to access the storage room where the sheets are kept.
There is one thing that seems strange to me though... Why does housekeeping put the spread on the bed in such a way that it looks made up? I never thought to look under the spread to make sure there were sheets on the bed until I was ready to get in it.

I agree...this is weird...and the reason I will check under the spreads when we arrive!!

Other than the sheet situatoin (and I'll chime in with a 'Sorry' too) ... was the location okay?

I just found a 2 bedroom villa for $72-ish a night ... and I don't see anything on the site that says I can't book it for just one night ... does anyone know? Are you charged for maid service if you only book for one night? I'll call or e-mail them to find out the details ... but if its available I'm definitely considering it for our 'one night' stay before we move over to Pop Century.

fixing the bed without the sheets on it - is very strange.

makes you wonder if the maids are on a time period and they have to get so many rooms done even if they don't have enough sheets or towels to go around....

sorry it happen to you.

now I know to check the towels, sheets - before I agree to accept a room.

thanks!

Yes, Elaine. You can book for one night. That is what we did before we checked into the Royal Pacific Resort. And I'm glad I only spent one night there this time considering the problems. You don't have to pay for maid service for one night, nor do you need to pay for the room safe.
But I would probably stay there again. It seemed like a nice place. It is convenient to Disney World.

I don't know, maybe its because I travel ALOT (business and pleasure) and have seen just about everything but the basket of sheets, the loaded dishwasher and the lack of a welcome package would have signaled to me that housekeeping forgot to come back and finish. I'm more surprised that with all the people you spoke to that no one thought of looking to see if those sheets were for the beds, lol. Who knows, the people that stayed there last could have stripped the beds and straightened the sheets, I know a few people who would do that, lol.

Unfortunately, housekeeping is very limited at night, especially in a condo or timeshare.

Sorry your first experience there wasn't a great one.

I think that possibly housekeeping didn't get to the unit that day (may have been a foresight) and the last guests had just spread up the bed like that. I know that before you check out you're asked to take all the bedding off and leave it in the living room so that may be what happened. Actually I always spread the bedspread up too when I leave

In all the years (11) that we've been guests at CP we've always had very prompt service with any problems or concerns and I really think that this was just a mistake and could have happened at any resort or hotel.

We love CP and really always find everyone helpful to us when we visit. Hope that the rest of your stay was nice! :sunny:

THANK YOU so much! I think I'll go ahead and bood a villa for our first night ... and i'll be sure to remember to check the beds for sheets! *lol*

THANKS! :cheer2:

I was just going to post a thread inquiring about this resort.....and here was this one. Found some decent deals online....and of course I'm curious as to where everybody else is finding deals in case I can get a better one. Found my deals at Hotel Kingdom.

What can you folks tell me about this place? Where exactly is it located? What is walkable? How is the pool? Is there a slide? What is the difference between the grand villas and the regular ones? Also, the way I understand it is you don't have maid service at all unless you pay extra, is that correct?

Please, tell all, never stayed at a place like this before.

I made my reservation ... but the $70-ish villa at Cypress Pointe was no longer available since I waited over 24 hours and they had not e-mailed me back with a response to a simple question. So I went with the $95 Villa at the Cypress Pointe Grand Villas Disney. (From what I could tell it's a little closer to Disney maybe?) But in the 'comment' section of my on-line reservation, I asked if I could 'downgrade' to the other location if it became available. I don't know if they'll consider my request or not, but I figure it couldn't hurt to ask.

It's still less than two 'motel' rooms ... and probably much much nicer ...but it bugs me that waiting for them to respond to my e-mail has 'cost' me an extra $20. Oh well ... maybe a soak in the jacuzzi tub will make up for it?!?!? :rolleyes1

There were no sheets on the bed in the 2nd bedroom when we arrived also. Weird. Also, we were in a ground floor unit in building 7.

We're gonna try the Grand Villas next time.

To the poster wanting more info, I just posted very detailed stuff about CP as we were there last week. Do a search on my user name, or look thru page 2 or 3 for a post starting with "Observations on check in at Cypress Points' or something like that. If I find it first I'll post a link.

Can you tell me specifically about the bedding in the 2br and 3br units. Not the grand villas, just the regular ones. By bedding, I mean how many beds and what size are they in each room? We will have 2 adults and 3 kids. I figure DH and I in 1 room(king bed I guess), 2-12 yo girls in the 2nd room(twins?? I think) which leaves DS to sleep in the living room on a pull out if we get the 2br I think.....am I right? How would the bed/beds be in the 3rd bedroom if we got that one?

I'm also interested in details on the volcano pool. Is there a slide? Is it a "good" slide?

There is a king in the master, a twin with a twin trundle underneath (we moved the room around to accomodate the space better) and a pull out queen sofa in the living room. If you get a three bedroom, it has a king size bed as well as another oversized tub! This is actually a 1 bedroom unit that connects (like ajoining hotelrooms) to the 2 bedroom unit. I think your 12 yo would have a blast in there own king bed, and your ds could have the 2nd bedroom twin room. If you don't want to splurge for the 3 bedroom, I'd give the 12 yo the queen pull out sofa. That 2nd bedroom is very small, especially if you use the trundle.

My 5 kids liked the Volcano pool best with the tube slides and waterfalls. There is also a spa and baby pool. The other pools on the Grandvilla side don't have any slides, etc. There is a neat playground over there though, as well as a putt-putt course.

hth.

Nope. I can't tell you what the break down was, but it was $11.75 for one adult and two kids for 2 hours....you're paying for the clubs and balls, so bring your own if you got 'em.

Really??? So if I bring my own putter and balls, it's technically free?!?!
