Bad News: Stuntman at Sinbad show falls during performance

From the Sentinel (Corrected for spelling)

An experienced stunt performer was injured this afternoon at Universal's Islands of Adventure when he slid down a rope and missed his mark.

The actor, whose name was not released, was performing in the second Eighth Voyage of Sinbad show of the day when he slid from the main stage toward a platform made to look like a ship, Universal spokeswoman Tom Schroder said.

"He didn't land where he was supposed to," Schroder said. "He was close, but not not on his mark."

The man was taken to a hospital by ambulance and was conscious and talking. His condition was not immediately known. He has been performing in the show since the park opened a decade ago.

The accident happened about 3:30 p.m., and the show was stopped immediately, Schroder said. No guests were hurt.

The show will not reopen until the problem is pinpointed and solved, Schroder said.

"We're working to understand what happened," he said.
