Oh what a day!! The weather here has been awful - raining really heavy. I was trying to keep DS who is 8 months old from getting wet whilst getting him into the car and the car keys must have slipt out of my hands onto the floor. I shut the door and ran back to the house to get the dog and guess what - I had locked DS in the car with the keys aghhhhhh!!

I was in such a state - i had to call DH to work and he had to come home to rescue him - took him 20 minutes! I did not want to break the glass as I was worried it would harm DS but would have if DS got upset. Just played peek a boo and DS was happy - I got totally soaked though and feel a bit silly!

Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

Yes Molly's Godmother locked her little boy in the car when he was a similar age. I have a feeling they might have had to break the back window as the space key was too far away and it was mid summer.

Bet your DS loved the attention :goodvibes

Sorry you have had a bad day, At least your DH got home quite quick and your son was ok :)

Oh dear, at least he wasn't in there for too long, I bet he was having a great time while mummy was getting soaked :lmao:

Sounds as though DS had a great time whilst you did all of the worrying :grouphug:

oh weve done WAY worse than that! Im too embarrassed even to say!

Glad it turned out ok!

DS was having a ball he laughed the whole time! I hope no one was watching or they may have called the police thinking I was a mad!!

Don't feel so bad now knowing people have done similar or worse :lmao:

My mum once left my sister sitting outside the butchers in her pram - and walked the two miles home and unpacked her shopping before realising she'd forgotten something!!:)

I can only imagine the panic!!! At least DS sounds as though he had fun......:thumbsup2

Glad that everything was OK

I did this a few years ago when DS was about 2 1/2 - I locked him in with the keys by accident, he was strapped into the car seat and it was quite a warm day, I could see the keys i had put them on my carseat whilst I strapped him into his carseat, and I asked him to undo his seat belt (this was something that he was only allowed to do when mummy said that it was OK and he had only just learnt to do) but would he - would he heck.... he knew that he was only suppose to do this when we arrived somewhere we were just going out so had not even left home!!! it took me a good 30 minutes to persuade him that it really was OK and mummy wouldn't be cross...

We are watching you though. One more incident and we'll start calling you 'Britney' ;)

Hope you are having a better day today. Something similar happened to me but my 2 year old locked me in! We had a security lock put into the door that leads from the kitchen to the lounge in our old house. i was busy in the kitchen DD was in the lounge playing and she locked me in. I tried shouting my neighbour through the walls but she thought i was playing about. Eventually i managed to get DD to unlock the door!!!!!

I can see how something like that could easily happen however you son was not in any danger , and its something you can laugh about when hes older.

Something similar happened when we were in Sarasota on holiday the 1st year we took Joshua.
I went down to switch on the car engine and air/con so it wasn't too hot whilst Julie and Josh followed on, he was only 10 months old then.

Started the car, put the air/con on locked the doors from the inside and shut the drivers side door...all doors locked and the key in the ignition with the engine running...no spare key.

Locksmith $50 :sad2:

I am enjoying these stories of other peoples experiences - at least I am not alone!! There must be others who want to confess...come on...get it off your chest...you will fell better!!! :teeth:
