Bad experiences with in-room childcare?

I am wondering if anyone ever had a bad experience with in-room childcare?

We are going to POR March 25-April 1 with DD3 and DD1 and were thinking of getting in-room sitters (either Fairy Godmothers or Kids Nite Out) for a couple of evenings so we can enjoy a more quiet dinner and go on some grown-up rides. Is this a good idea? I have not seen many posts on this subject and was wondering if a lot of people do this.

Thanks!

Never used either service...

However at our recent stay at AKV...was at the playground with my DD19mths....2 cute kids, ages 4 and 6 were playing....a lady employed by Kids Nite Out sat on the bench the ENTIRE time while I talked and played with the kids with my DD!!
She rarely said boo to them....I knew their names etc...it was great cause my Dd had more fun with them!
However, I felt like I could have been the babysitter! (didnt mind) however not impressed by her bench sitting.

THis is just one instance...I am sure there are great stories otherwise they wouldnt be in business:) Just my observation based on MY experience....

This will be our first time going! I'm sure it would be great to have a night out with the kids back at the hotel, i'd love it , I have 4 kids. But I just wouldn't trust anyone these days. I'd be too nervous, I don't think i'd be able to enjoy myself. Crazy things go on these days, better safe than sorry.

Used Fairy Godmothers more than a half-dozen times. Always been pleased. DS likes this better than kids club because he wants to go to bed at a decent time.

There have been many threads on this, actually. The ones who don't like the sitters are mostly the ones who have never used them.

I've read all the threads I've come across in the past 6 or so years, and pretty much, more than 90 percent of folks love them.

The "worst" thing I saw reported was a sitter who left a 9 year old alone while she took the four year old to go get ice.

I've seen lots of posts where people had great things to say about in room babysitting. I don't think I've seen any negative ones.

The companies do extensive background checks on the sitters. It's much safer than hiring a sitter at home.
