I spilt boiling water on my foot last night and burnt the entire top of my foot except where the toes are. I have a doctor apointment today in hopes of getting something for the pain and also to keep it from getting infected. We leave for WDW in 4 weeks and my husband is worried about what I am going to be able to wear for shoes. Any ideas. Thongs will rub against the burn but was hoping to find a shoe/sandal that crosses at the toe. We are really bummed because our June trip was planned for 1 1/2 years and 4 weeks before we left our son had a serious eye engery, had emergency surgery, and was restricted from swimming, running, jumping etc... I sure don't wan't to ruin this trip.

Have you looked in to Tevas? I've never used them personally, but many other DISers swear by them.

So sorry you had that accident. Hopefully you can get some good medicine (topical and internal), that can help speed up your healing process. I agree with the previous poster on the shoes, or maybe your doctor can make a suggestion on the best shoes to wear, or you can contact an orthopoedic (sp?) shoe store and ask them what they could recommend. Good luck!

Also start taking Vitamin C and Zinc. They both help speed up the healing process and help grow new skin.

Good luck.

Maybe Crocs? Beach style. Although they're mostly enclosed, they are meant to be worn a little big, so the top doesn't touch the top of your foot. As long as you're not lifting your foot too much, it's just the tips of your toes pushing the shoe forward when you walk. Maybe even buy a pair a size bigger than you normally would, just to prevent it from rubbing.

I can't think of any regular sandals that don't touch the top of the foot anywhere but the toes, but I have heard of these topless sandals. I've never tried them and have no idea how they make them stick to the bottoms of your feet, or if they'll stick for a full day of Disney walking, but they may be worth a try.

Good luck! I hope it heals quickly!

Can you buy a pair of cheap shoes or sneakers and cut away the top of one of them? You can wear a different more comfortable shoe on your other foot. If one foot is bandaged you are excused from having to wear shoes that match.

Disney always means a lot of walking. Feel free to rent a wheelchair.
