Have experienced setbacks with my new TA which has kept the Magic at Bay! Hoping that all will go well, we finish packing, close the suitcases, and wait for our limo.
We arrive at the airport with ease and get up to the queue.
"Please put your suitcases on the scale", "Oh excuse me, carry-ons are limited to 5lbs", "You must check these in". Ah, I don't think so!LOL So there I am in the middle of Terminal 3 rearranging suitcases. There was no way I was checking in DD's Pins! Unfortunately, they almost weighed in at 5lbs. themselves.
Back to do some more rearranging! Note to self, next time just have pins as carryon and check the rest! If it goes missing, an excuse to go SHOPPING!
I notice a Father-Daughter team lurking beside us and wondering to myself, are they enjoying my comedy of errros here or what? As it turns out it is her first time flying and she is nervous. He is nervous becuase she is nervous! Being the good samaritan that I am, I offer to take her under my wing and make sure that she arrives safely to Orlando! Good thing, it turns out her cousin is picking her up and they both being Teens did not think to make arrangements as to where to meet! And Daddy did not think to add a US Plan to her cell phone! Luckily I did this trip and they hooked up, and I hope her first trip to FLA was Magical!
This is our first trip using Skyservice and DD does not want to use anybody else now! It turns out they show a full length movies and guess which one they were showing! "Finding Nemo!" First flight that I did not hear from her, "Are we there Yet?", "I'm bored!", etc., etc. So why does AirTransat claim there is not enough time?
Skyservice also serves meals but I had pre-ordered a fruit plate for myself and Kid's meal for DD. Her's was the same as everybody elses. Sandwich, Coleslaw, Cookie and Kit Kat Bar!
The only problem we encounter is the weather and have to circle around Orlando a few times before landing.
I rented thru National and what a treat just going up to the counter, walk across to the garage and load the car and drive off!
Map in hand, off to the Radisson!
Directions were great and got there in no time! Checked in, went up to the room, seems ok, DD changes and goes off swimming! I just stay by poolside, pinching myself, thinking, WOW!
Pool closes at 11:00 so it's off to beddy bye for tomorrows Shopping Spree!
I'll talk more about the Radisson in my next installment!
