Backyard BBQ or HOOP DE DOO

Having never done either I can't judge one over the other. I just wanted to know what would be the best bet for a child who is almost 18 months old - and the six adults with him

we've done HDDR and it is absolutely FABULOUS!! very funny on a lot of levels! it's also (and this is what swayed me the first time) (unlike MBYBBQ) air-conditioned, has all-you-can-drink beer/wine/sangria, and indoors/bug free... that being said, i've never done the BBQ and while the child *may* enjoy it (he may also be too young to care!) the adults will prefer HDDR, imo...

I've never done the BBQ because it is outside - we didn't want to have to worry about the weather, heat, bugs, etc. And, we don't really like country music.

We did HDDR this year and hated it. If you've ever seen any old Hee-Haw reruns then you've seen Hoop-Dee-Doo (or as DH calls it Hoop-Dee-Doo-Doo). The food was just OK - some of it not good at all.

we love HDDR and we are going again this year! the food is ok but thats not why your there!!

We haven't done the BBQ because of the weather. It's always hot when we go to WDW and to pay THAT much money and sit outside in the heat is not what my family looks forward to doing.

We did HDDR last year and were not disappointed. It may not be for everyone. It's definitely corny, but my 6 & 8 yr olds just loved it. The food was fine, and we loved the "all you could drink cold beer" after a long hot day
at the parks.

For our upcoming trip I asked my family if they wanted to do either the BBQ, Aloha, or HDDR and all chose HDDR again.

No doubt Hoop de Doo...its just a lot of fun. It doesn't pretend to be anything that it isn't...southern comfort food in a dinner theatre atmosphere. But it has that touch of Disney that makes it a lot of fun for lots of people.
