I am looking for any information on the Backstage Magic Tour. DW and I have taken the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK and the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot and enjoyed them both. Both required admission to their respective parks. The Backstage Magic tour takes you behind the scenes at MK, Epcot and MGM but says it does not require admission to the parks. Then it goes on to say that admission to Epcot is not included in the price of the tour. When I called the Disney Tours phone number, I got a fellow who was not too knowledgable or helpful about what we could expect to see on the tour and where it would take us.
Anyone out there who has taken this tour, I would love to hear something about it.

We have taken this tour twice....we did not need park admission when we took our tour (last time 2004). We met outside the gates to Epcot (at the Guest Services window area that is outside the gates) and then we walked backstage to board the bus to start our tour. We toured the backstage area of Epcot first, then went to MGM where we toured a bit backstage, went to the costuming department and had lunch at Mama Melrose's. Then it was off to the backstage area of the Magic Kingdom. One thing I do remember that we needed to have was either a passport or photo ID in order to be on the tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and will probably do it agin in the future.

I just checked the latest Passporter and here is the description that is listed:

Backstage Magic (MK, MGM & Epcot)
Cost $199
Ages 16 & up

This seven-hour tour of three major parks explores how Disney's magic is created and maintained. Go beneath the Magic Kingdom to explore the underground "utilidors", enjoy a special lunch at the Disney-MGM Studios, and see the computer systems at Epcot. Tours depart Monday-Friday at 8:45 am. Price includes lunch. Park admission is not required. Reserve well in advance.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to send me a PM or post here.

sometimes these tours will allow you to leave into the parks.

this one might. but only if you have park tickets.

Thanks for your response. It was very helpful. My guess is that the MK part of the tour is like the underground part of Keys to the Kingdom. But that's ok, since I never get tired or anything Disney. The only thing that threw me was that the Backstage Magic tour is only given Monday to Friday. Being a working Floridian, most of our Disney visits are on the weekend. I guess I will just have to convince DW to take a Friday off.

Thanks again for your info.

The backstage part of the MK was more than just the utilidors....we saw them getting the floats ready for the parade and then went "backstage" and watched the parade on video screens - not sure how to explain it (I had no idea there were so many hidden cameras in the MK). I think it's worth taking a Friday off!!!!
