I read that we are now not allowed to bring backpacks in the park. This messes up my plan. I was going to carry a backpack with the park maps, our admission, water bottles, etc. I thought we were allowed. What happened?

I have in the past, they just searched them when we went in. I too carry snacks, suntan lotions, cameras, etc. It would be a bummer.

I read the other day that they have a size restriction now. I know that I was not worried about the size at all.

Just got back yesterday and saw no signs for size restrictions. I got whacked around just as much this time by backpacks as I usually do - some folks just don't seem to know how much space they take up when they wear those things and when they turn around - whack!

One of the biggest pains about backpacks is that you then have to go through the bag check lines. We try to travel as lightly as we possible can when we go to the parks. Some folks look like they are packing for a week by the size of their backpacks!

I took my backpack with me last week, and it was STUFFED. They searched it with no question and let me in with no fuss at all.

Just back and had a big Red Sox Backpack with me. The bag check is so fast it doesn't really even count.

But I would not recommend bringing a Red Sox back pack after the Yankees just beat them 5 games in a row. I had to bow my head in shame every time I saw a Yankees hat or shirt, and I saw lots :(

As a wife of a die hard RedSox fan......I feel your pain.

Glad to hear I can still bring in a bag..... I need it with my 14 month old and all her snacks

Where did you read this???

Someone posted something like this a few days ago, but it turns out they read it wrong, it talked about no rolling backpacks, and no backpacks any larger than a certain size, that size being about the size of a WDW locker. This size restriction is nothing new -- any bag or cooler taken into WDW has to be small enough to (theoretically) fit into a WDW rental locker.

BACKPACKS AT WDW -- NO PROBLEM!

Just back. No prob with the backpacks. I saw plenty of stuffed to the gills, 100 pound monsters while I was there. I also saw a good number of rolling coolers and such.

There was only one time last week where I found the bag check line to be long, but even then it seemed to move quickly.

The liquids restriction is for aircraft, not theme parks. Let's not get carried away.

Entering the whole back pack issue I've always wondered what you can not take with you in a back pack or not.
