Our bus driver rocked! Let me tell you, I don’t know how in the world this bus driver got his job, but Disney is definitely NOT using him to his fullest potential.

We had a few funny bus drivers too. Makes a big difference

We walked counterclockwise around the World Showcase looking for a good spot to view Illuminations. We were careful to avoid the obstructed view areas that our wonderful bus driver had warned us about. We ended up between the US and Italy. We had a great view of a wonderful show!

We had a crappy spot but enjoyed the show just the same.

After the show, we continued our way around the World Showcase. We made a stop in the candy store in Germany to take a gander. Both DH and I studied German in high school and college and had spent some time there. So, we wanted to see what kinds of goodies from Deutschland the store had.

We didn’t buy anything, but I was tempted by the Haribo gummi bears and the Milka chocolate. There's nothing like German chocolate... unless you count Swiss chocolate... or Austrian chocolate...

The question I have is – does anyone ever actually buy one of these hats? I see people wearing them in pictures in almost every trip report I read, but never does anyone mention actually buying the hat. Makes you wonder how that shop stays in business???

While taking pictures and posing with the merchandise in the lobby of the Mexico pavilion, DH noticed a guy wearing a really cool t-shirt. DH, being the train geek that he is, had to grab a picture:

I spent a summer in Germany after my first year of college in 1992. I studied in Heidelberg for five weeks and then spent two weeks in what used to be East Berlin. It was a lot of fun and I came back almost fluent (not anymore)!

Then, I spent the summer of 1996 in Vienna, Austria working for the US State Dept. as an intern at the US Embassy there. It was a lot of fun, but unfortunately it was unpaid, so I didn't get the chance to do many fun things. I just didn't have any money!!

Can your cousin bring me some chocolate too??

Yes, DH thought that t-shirt was hilarious. First of all, it has a pic of the monorail on it (which he loves). Secondly, the Spanish phrase on it is one that he says all the time when we're talking about WDW. He knows it by heart. So, he asked the guy if he could take a picture of it. At the time, we were posing Plankton and our Lego guys all over the store, so the guy probably thought we were drunk!

It makes me laugh that they sell Toblerone which is Swiss in Germany and have you seen the price of it It is yummy though, my favourite is the snowcapped one which is normal milk chocolate on the bottom and white chocolate on the top

I've never seen the snowcapped kind. We have them here, but they're a lot more expensive than American chocolate (which is really bad by European standards, I know). I like chocolate, but because of the ages of my kids, we usually end up with M & Ms.

I have had Lindt and they're very good. I also love Milka and Ritter Sport from Germany. Now you're making me crave some good chocolate (and I just got home from the grocery and didn't buy any!)

Isn't it awesome when you get a fun bus driver? It's like finding a real gem among costume jewelry!

We arrived at Epcot and checked the ride board. Wait times were really long everywhere and there were no fastpasses in sight. So, Soarin and Test Track were out.

Those rides are ALWAYS SOOOO crowded! Crazy!

We found Nemo to be quite boring, to tell you the truth. I can see why my two-year old liked it, but there wasn’t much for adults on that ride. It would be okay to catch a few winks on (like Spaceship Earth), but that’s about it.

We call SE "the nap ride" too!! We always have to ride it anyway, for some reason!

So, we watched Illuminations empty-handed. Let's just say that I totally understand why ZZUB loves this show so much! It rocked!

I ILLUMINATIONS!!!

I mean, other than seeing small children beat up on a Donald Duck pinata, this ride is just like It’s A Small World en Espanol, right? I mean, it even has the same kids, just all of them look like Dora the Explorer!

It was awesome to be able to walk to our hotel – definitely worth the extra points needed to stay at Beach Club.

On our way up the walk at BCV, DH noticed that there were quite a few lights burned out on the strands along the eaves of the building. It sort of bothered him that Disney would let that many bulbs burn out without fixing them.

DH and I ALWAYS notice that!!! Of course, keeping up with all of those lightbulbs would be a full-time job for a TEAM of CMs... but we have the same expectations of Disney... it just shouldn't happen!

BTW, It's amazing how well you can sleep when there's no four year old with a very small bladder waking you up in the middle of the night because she can't seem to go to the bathroom by herself in the middle of the night even though she does it fine during the day! Not that this happens to me every single night or anything...

Can I get an amen?! Completely true!
