Back to school.......

Well the summer holidays are almost over for the kids up here!! My two go back to school tomorow!! (Can you tell I'm looking forward to it!!...)

Not that I'll have too much time to myself......I've got a new job and start on Monday!!

Lucky! I dislike the school holidays so much now I've finished! The city centre is permanently full and the council estate I have to walk through to get to the bus stop is full of kids being very rude and throwing stuff at you and your bus. This year we have a pair of shoes dangeling from a telephone wire above the street!

Has anyone else noticed that in town there is always an increased police/security staff presence during the school holidays too?

Scottish teacher here. We went back yesterday (16th). What a shock to the system that was! A huge amount of work to be done in the first weeks of the year. I don't like it. I prefer when I'm in my routine.

Got the kids starting in the morning. I'm moving classes this year so that was extra work for me. I have to learn a new load of work for these older ones. I've been told there are not many bright sparks in my class either. Oh joy!

Even better - it's my birthday tomorrow as well!!!! Can things get any more thrilling?

I'll be opening a bottle of wine tomorrow night, that's for sure!

I've still got 2 and half weeks before my girls go back to school (7th Sept), although I always enjoy having the girls off, I am now looking forward to getting back into my old routine.
