I had to grab these as soon as I smelled them...
Always a hit with me and unfortunately the rest of my fam as well!
Warm, full of flavor, and a real pick ya up if you are feeling low on energy. I never realized it was a combo of peanuts AND Almonds until I read the description (I didn't taste the peanuts?). A great snack option
I knew I had to hit Starring Rolls for those cupcakes too! So as the day pressed on and as soon as the kids started complaining that they were wanting a snack I knew right where to go!
I think the lady thought I was a crazy person when I asked to order 4 of these monsters! They really are HUGE in real life

Heavy and HUGE!
Here are the beauties
lower left we have the chocolate peanut butter, top left is the red velvet, bottom right is of course the butterfinger and the top right is the marble.
Internal views because I am a good dis'er...
Before I review these cupcakes I need to inform you all that I am lucky to have a gourmet cupcake shoppe close to home. They bake everything from scratch every day and only use the highest quality ingredients. I have tasted heaven in cupcake form many many times lol. I like to think I know a thing or two when it comes to baked goods and do find myself fussy with them.
Now, with that being said I found the Marble one to be mehhh. It was lacking any real flavor to tell you the truth. Sure, it looked fantastic but it didn't taste that way. The white frosting is more whipped in taste and texture with a dollop of firmer chocolate fudgey type of frosting in the center. Yellow and chocolate cake with mickey sprinkles and chocolate nibs surrounding the base of the top. It wasn't my favorite OR the kids's either. We won't be getting this one again. Out of the 4 it was our least fav.
Moving on I'll go to the PB chocolate one. I didn't really pick up on the PB flavor here much. You could tell it was used in the cupcake but it didn't really have that clear taste of PB. While the chocolate was good it just tasted like too much of the same thing. For some reason it kinda reminded me of the liquid mix used for no bake cookies

. We didn't really care for this one either. LOVED the looks of it though! Won't be getting it again...ranked #3 out of the 4.
Next up the Butterfinger. Ok, this was a winner! If only our shoppe could replicate this...I must put my demands in because I'm craving one badly now that we are back home lol. It was SO rich though. The frosting was thick and heavy buttercream. It was the thickness that one would want to use for piping onto a cake to decorate but more creamy and a bit airy. It was YUM. Butterfinger bits surround the mountain that is the top of this cupcake which just adds to the greatness of it

Have I mentioned how rich this is? Seriously...two bites was enough for me. The cake was good and moist and it also sported the dollop of fudge like matter in the center. We liked this one and would get it again...ranked it #2 out of the 4.
Last but not least is the Red Velvet. This was perfect. Period. I love it! Thick Cream cheese frosting with moist red velvet cake. Chocolate drizzle on the massive amount of frosting on top with a crumb of some sorts surrounding around the side. DH and the kids agreed, this was the best out of the 4. We will for sure be getting it again.
Quick note...most people would never be able to finish one of these cupcakes FYI. They are TOTALLY splitable between 2-4 people I'd say. They are like the size of a mini cake and VERY sweet.
I really enjoyed finally getting to try these from starring rolls though! Great option for a snack credit here as well
