Thanks so much for the tips you guys! I love planning with you all. It makes me feel like I've got some support

I just booked the dessert party so I'm officially done ALL my reservations! When I get my new credit card (mine expires at the end of this month so the new one should be getting here any time now) I'll do online check-in.

My mom told me the other day how much she's looking forward to the trip, and I can't even begin to describe how awesome that made me feel. I know she picked Disney World for my benefit, so I've been doing everything I can think of to make this trip awesome for her, so I'm thrilled that she's excited.

I was originally planning to purchase a necklace with our birthstones in it to give to her at the dessert party, but I've rethought that idea. I think she might actually appreciate something a bit more personal than birthstones. I found a tutorial online describing how to make a really gorgeous pendant out of your fingerprints, so I think I'll do that instead! It'll look something like this:

I'll use my fingerprint and my brother's fingerprint to make it. What do you think?

My necklace-making is not going so well It's a lot harder than I thought it would be, because fingerprints are so delicate. They just don't show up on the pendant. I may have to come up with another idea, and I'm running out of time!

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking maybe stamping a pendant with the longitude/latitude of the hospital where my brother and I were born. Does that sound good?

i used the exact Sculpey from that tutorial, I have no idea where I went wrong! I coated our fingers before we made the prints and it looked pretty good but after baking had faded significantly to the point where it just didn't look good anymore.

I ended up going with the second idea and I think it was the right choice. Who knows, maybe I'll figure out the fingerprint thing for another gift sometime!

Anywhoooo 11 days for me! One essay and one exam and then vacation!

Good! I'm glad the second idea worked out, you don't want to stress too much with trying to finish a project that isn't going too well by a certain deadline!

You will be fine!! I'm always nervous too but we are here now, made it last night and already having a blast!

I am nervous also leaving on Friday and I hurt my back two weeks ago. I can't walk without pain for long periods of time. I have two more Chiropractor appts to go to before we leave and now one of the families I am going with has day care issues w/her little ones that aren't going w/us this trip!

I need pixie dust and positive thoughts my way please!
