I'll be going to Disneyland 2 days in a row. Both days with Genie Plus. Both in the park at park open. How would you vary your strategy for Day 2 at rope drop? I plan to start my day in Fantasyland on Day 1. Plan to enter ROR line right before it closes. If it's broken, I'll prioritize it for Day 2. The rides my kids are most excited about are on Genie+.

I love these boards! Thanks for sharing your insight.

Day 2 rope drop should be whatever is your priority. We always rope drop Tomorrowland so we can get on Space Mountain without a Genie+ selection. This allows you to ride it again later with the Genie+. Then you can hit up everything else in Tomorrowland with little wait or head over to the Matterhorn.

Conversely, if you're big on Big Thunder or Indiana Jones, rope drop those. Both will have minimal waits and you can use the Genie+ to ride them again later. Pretty much before 11 is going to be low waits and you may not even need to use your Genie+ till after that.

For Rise, I would just do the extra purchase so you don't have to worry about when it goes down. If it does while you're time is going on, you can go back whenever it opens back up. I wouldn't rope drop it as you don't know if it will open on time.

If you don't go that often and have any desire for some awesome pictures early in the AM I'd consider getting a good photo by the castle before the crowds get in. If you are staying on property and have the 30 min extra time even better. Got some great photos with our family on a trip where we had the castle pretty much to ourselves. Just a thought....

I'd rope drop anything you weren't able to do the first day in Fantasyland, or start with Adventureland/Frontierland. We've been able to do Indy/Big Thunder/Pirates and then Haunted mansion in the first hour when rope dropping.

I'd spend money on the Rise LL because it's definitely worth it and will free up your park time for other things.

I love NVDISfamily's idea of getting some nice pictures. I have alot of empty/nearly empty park photos from rope drop days. It doesn't take that long, I'd just stop for half a second, take a picture and keep walking. I love my empty castle pictures I've gotten this way.
