I am teaching TWO freshman classes this year (a frosh seminar and an honors gen psych course).....THANK YOU parents. I have 60 of the most dynamite (boy, does that age me) students I could ever pray for! My seniors and grad students are great, but my frosh are excited and so eager to learn. I don't know what the parents have done, but I have the most prepared, bright, energetic and just plain polite group of students I have ever taught (caution: remind me of this thought in November when I am ready to string them up!).......us college faculty really ought to THANK parents more often for the wonderful kids you send us! Now, if they only would quit showing up looking younger and younger every year!!!!!

It sure does get quiet when one goes to college. We dropped off our oldest DS Thursday. I miss him alot! Now it is just my younger DS who is a high school freshman at home.

Boy, is this house quiet. I'm so used to having DS#2 and about three of his friends in and out of here all day long.

My ex and I took him to Penn State on Thursday. Move-in went much more smoothly than I anticipated and even being with ex was okay. We took DS out to lunch and while we were sitting in the Olive Garden, he said, "I'm just ready to get going and start meeting people." So, we took him back to his dorm and said our goodbyes. Talked to him tonight and he's doing well -- except he misses "mom's cooking". aaaahhhh!

I took off for a few days to Baltimore with friends. Just needed the break before coming back to my empty nest!

I cant imagine what that would be like, with my 11 year old my house is a hub of activity, then one day it will just be silent. Nice but kind of sad.

My mom tells me all the time to cherish all the hubbub my kids make because one day I'll miss their fussing and fighting, and I'll be missing picking up toys.
