Our spring break 2020 trip is on for spring break 2022. As I re-engage with the Disney ecosystem this is what I find:

Park reservations can be made now for March 2022.
Park hopping is available after 2 p,m. (we have PH tix)
Our tix are dated (spoke to ticketing and adjusted the dates this week).
FP+ is not available, but there are hopes and hints that it may be coming back.
RotR is still a very hard thing to get.

Must we have a HS park reservation to try for RotR? Can we practice RotR BG with tix that aren't valid yet?

Old dog learning new tricks ; )

You cannot secure a ROTR boarding pass without having a park reservation at HS for that day. You can play around with the app prior to your visit to familiarize yourself with how it works but you will not be able to finalize the request without a valid park reservation (which requires a valid ticket).

Yes you can indeed practice! If you practice and get a message saying something like "you don't have valid admission" or "you need a park pass," etc., that means you would have gotten a BG if you had had a ticket and a park pass for DHS that day. Read the last four or five pages of this thread for added assistance. (Yes, the thread title says to read posts 1 and 2, but those posts are very outdated and almost useless except for historic interest.)
