Back from Wonderland:wAlice,Madhatter,ChesCat&White Rabbit 11/11Thank You

Patricia - I am so glad that your camera was turned in by a good person!

Last day? Already? :sad1: I still have to get back and see your Pirates updates but ahhh, a PTR to look forward to as well!

Thank heavens for the positive outcome on your camera! My stomach would have been just churning away and I don't think I could have done anything else either until I had it back again. I like your MK and Plaza traditions... I've never considered the Plaza before. Not sure why, it just never came up. :confused3

We then moved on to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor...(BTW it pained me greatly that SpaceM was closed for refurbishment...I love SM...ironically I have an easier time on SM than on Splash which both Alice and Hatter think is bizarre but that is just the way it is...

Well, I've only been on the SM in DL and DLP and on Splash Mountain 17 years ago... but... it is my theory that rides in the dark are much "easier" than the ones where you see where you are going. I had the most horrible roller coaster experience this summer (which flossbolna and I still have to report on in her PTR :scared1:) and I'm convinced it wouldn't have been so bad indoors and in darkness.

I really enjoyed your TR and am lookung forward to your PTR!!!

Oh my! What a horrible experience with the camera, but thank goodness for the kind person who turned it in! Whew!!! Although I had to smile at the Hitchcock reference. :goodvibes

Oh my! One of my big Disney fears is that I will lose my camera or drop it and it will smash to a million pieces. I am so glad you were able to find it! PHEW!!

Oh I'm crying right now for you!!!! I just can't even imagine that stress....I too would be devastated. All those memories captured...

And then it's found!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: What a RELIEF!!!

What a nice afternoon, turned horrible, turned magical!

A big THANK YOU kind random stranger who turned in the camera!! :goodvibes

I always worry about losing our camera. Luckily, DH is very good about keeping up with it. Thank goodness for good samaritans!

Aack!

Ok I knew it had been found since you've posted pictures that were on it but how stressful! We think about those last few hours, capturing the last bit of magic before we leave and to have some of it eaten up with that kind of stress....

I've always though the Plaza would be good for an OOP lunch, I could never justify using a TS on it but it's cute! Fun that it just happens to work out that way, I love those kinds of traditions!

Even though I knew you must have gotten the camera back (you posted pictures of the Pirate Cruise...), I was still on the edge of my seat reading this chapter! :rotfl2:

Denise

I always like to end up at the MK...I don't know why...I think because when everything is said and done...The Magic Kingdom is kind of the crystallization of everything that I love about Disney...the best of Americana, fairytales, adventures and scary but not too scary stories...you can be a princess, a pirate, a fairy or just a huge fan of the beginnings and the best of movie magic...so for whatever reason it's a tradition to spend the last morning here...

Patricia - this paragraph is so Perfect. This is exactly how I feel. I like to start and end at the MK. Can I borrow this paragraph when I get to the last day of my TR! :rotfl: Kidding.....no, but seriously, can I? I think that would constitute plagarism on the DIS boards. Can I get kicked off for the that!!!!! LOL!

I still have a few episodes of your TR to catch up on, but I really enjoyed your last day. I am so glad you found your camera. That was absolutely perfect timing. Phew!

I also really love the Plaza. It's such a great little place to eat! And its right in the thick of things with its proximity to the castle and tomorrowland.

Patricia...

I would have been completely freaking out w/ you on that one....

sorry your last few hours in MK were disrupted by the missing camera...but the magic kept on going :goodvibes

J~

Yes for finding the camera!!!!!:thumbsup2

Boo for having to leave....

The Plaza is becoming a must try......

YUM! That sounds good.

3 ways to do it on the banners.

1. Upload whatever pics you want to photobucket at the "small" or whatever is smaller than that size. Put them in your siggie side by side, no space. You can fit about 5 I think at the small size before it will run down onto the next line.

2. Do a ticker that lets you create a banner with pics or lets you put one on either side of the actual ticker.

3. Create a new long collage of the pics you want and upload that. For me that never worked as the sizing somehow got off but I'm sure I just wasn't doing it right.

Hey Cynthia-thanks for this......I'm going to work on fixing my siggie today...it is totally out of control...and I need to figure out what's going on...:confused3

Sounds like your Halloween was not all lost in illness! :thumbsup2 I am glad that you still managed to have some fun!

I can't believe that your TR is coming to an end!! It was so much fun to read along! Thank you so much for your Wave review, as nodnol already said, it really confirmed our feeling about it! It looks like a great hotel restaurant and if the CR were in any other place (as it easily could be), I would be very tempted to eat there. But WDW offers other places that just are more special! :goodvibes

nodnol and I will travel to Nuremberg together in about two weeks and I think we really should take a DLP map with us to spend the tiem on the train discussing our recommendations for your new PTR! By the way, I love the title!! I am so bad about coming up with titles, I hope nodnol as the writer (she has a degree in journalism) will be of some help with that... :rolleyes1 I just read on a DLP website that their "celebration" next year will be the next generation of Disney characters: Tiana, Remy, Woody, Buzz, Lightning McQueen... Oh, and did you notice that the Euro is dropping? It wasn't supposed to do that until February 5... :headache: I guess you were really unlucky with the time when you paid your down payment for the appartment... So was I in August when I paid off a huge chunck of our Disney trip. Exchange rates are a nightmare!!! I am so glad that we don't have to bother with that anymore in most of Europe!

Floss-I love Halloween...do you celebrate Halloween in Germany? I know it's making inroads in Europe...even the French are doing it in a small way...

If anything in my TR helped you I am really glad...:goodvibes...

Ugghhh...I am trying to not watch the Euro...it seems to be moving around alot...We are still going...it is a special trip...we will be saving $$$ by renting an appt. and I will be able to control food costs...by eating in the appt...we are going to plan a special lunch everyday...(restaurants are usually less at lunch and do the menu when possible) but I know we are going to cry when we book our airfare...the only thing that will help is that we can fly out of NY-where we can probably get a lower fare...

You know that I would be very happy for any suggestions you and Nodnol gave give re.: DLP...:goodvibes

Chelsea is still not back to normal yet -- still running a fever -- but insisting she feels well enough to go to school. Sigh. I hate that she is missing so much school.

I can't wait to hear all about Alice's birthday party on Friday -- I am sure there will be some "fun" stories about that.

I'm hoping Chelsea is back in full form-but I know that my kiddos are still not quite 100%...I know what you mean about missing school and the older they get...the harder that is...:sad2:

Oy...the party...it should be very interesting...26 (maybe a few more) 14 & 15 year old guys and gals...She really has a very nice group of friends but still...it should be interesting...(pray for me...jk...:lmao:)

Cool. I am totally up for this tour. We will do a Philly DIS meet. I've lived in Delaware for a bagillion years, so I don't remember much about Philly, except how to get to the airport and the zoo. I don't think that counts. :rotfl:

I am totally up for it too...:goodvibes...hmmm how many Disers do you think are between DC and NY...(I could promise a really good time anyone reading...:rolleyes1....Philadelphia can be a lot of fun...:thumbsup2

Center City is about all I've been to...I did a pretty cool project there back in the days of the big green dot.

Loved the area.

See...Cynthia loved it...:lmao: and I wasn't even hosting...If I had known you then...we would have had a awesome time...:thumbsup2

Last day so sad:sad:
I love the Plaza as your accidental last meal tradition. It is such a great place. Not trying to be anything fancy, but has that great view of the castle. It's my favorite place to eat in the MK:goodvibes
And camera scare:scared1: I know how horrible that feeling is. Congratulations on your calmness. My camera scare involoved serious tears and trauma. I must commend your excellent self control;)

I'm sad that your report is coming to an end, but excited for you to start your PTRpopcorn::

I know-I always such bittersweet feelings the last day...I'm really grateful that we were able to go and enjoy but I'm so sad that it's ending...I hate having to leave Main Street that last time...:sad1:

Yes...I really like the Plaza too...I think I'm going to make that our official last lunch place.. pretty, tasty simple food, the view of the castle...perfect...:goodvibes

Oh I was trying to be calm on the outside but I was freaking on the inside...:scared1: Hmmm...I'm feeling the need for my own camera...(maybe a holiday gift) I think that Hatter can have his and I can have mine...(I'm interested in playing around a little with photographer and I've picked up some tips on these boards so I think that might work out well...:rolleyes1

Hurray...we have a reader for my PTR...thanks Jenny...:goodvibes...I'm looking forward to starting it...:cool1:

Wow I would have been freaking out about the camera! What a relief!

How do I not know about the Plaza? I don't think it's ever been on my radar.

I'm looking forward to hearing about it. My DD9 has a just like me doll and a bunch of clothing but we have never been to the actual store.

YOU don't know about the Plaza...:faint:...if you are standing on Main Street Looking at the Castle...you have Casey's on the left-and the Ice Cream Parlor on your right...if you go in past the Ice Cream Parlor...you come to the Plaza (they get their ice cream from the Parlor)...you must try it...:thumbsup2

Hmmm...I think I have some American Girl Doll photos of Emily from when she was maybe 10? (I will take a look...and I'll post some probably in the PRT because I plan on doing an embarrassing look back at her leading up to her 16th...(in the mean time-I'll see what else I can find and PM you..;)...Just do not go in the month leading up to Christmas unless you aren't claustrophobic...(She collected Felicity (the colonial girl) btw...)

Patricia - I am so glad that your camera was turned in by a good person!

So am I Elin, so am I...(I actually said a little prayer and sent them well wishes...I hope they know what a nice thing they did...:goodvibes)

Last day? Already? :sad1: I still have to get back and see your Pirates updates but ahhh, a PTR to look forward to as well!

I like your MK and Plaza traditions... I've never considered the Plaza before. Not sure why, it just never came up. :confused3

My camera incident was bad, bad, bad......had you had the misfortune to be in my mind that day...you probably would have been scared...it was not a happy place...I'd like to think I am a decent person but Pollyana I am not...:sad2:

But it ended well thanks to some kind person...:thumbsup2

Well, I've only been on the SM in DL and DLP and on Splash Mountain 17 years ago... but... it is my theory that rides in the dark are much "easier" than the ones where you see where you are going. Thanks Nodnol...I loved having you along...:goodvibes

hmm...never thought about the dark part...maybe that's why I like Space Mountain...I just have a really weird hangup about Splash which I am trying to work on...:lmao:

I am sorry about your negative coaster experience...I am curious to read about it...sometimes one bad experience like that can really affect you...(and some people can get motion sick so that is never fun...:confused3)

I hope that you will be able to ride and enjoy everything on your upcoming trip...(the one that I haven't done that really scares me is ToT...but I am going to do it next year with Emily on her Birthday...)

Oh my! What a horrible experience with the camera, but thank goodness for the kind person who turned it in! Whew!!! Although I had to smile at the Hitchcock reference. :goodvibes

I thought you might appreciate the Hitchcock references...;) I really felt surreal until we got the camera back...The Good Samaritan probably doesn't ever realize how much she prevented my entire meltdown...:rolleyes1

Oh my! One of my big Disney fears is that I will lose my camera or drop it and it will smash to a million pieces. I am so glad you were able to find it! PHEW!!

I think a lot of us on the boards are pretty protective of our cameras...there is such strength in numbers...(it helps me to know that I'm not crazy...or if I am...we all are...:lmao:)

:goodvibes

I know-if I had met them I probably would have given them a big squeezey hug...which might have frightened them...:lmao:

I always worry about losing our camera. Luckily, DH is very good about keeping up with it. Thank goodness for good samaritans!
:goodvibes...:wizard:...:thumbsup2

I wouldn't use a TS credit on it either...we always do it OOP...very fun...:thumbsup2

Yes I am now my own camera master...which means I need to carry the camera...and if necessary get a new one to carry if Hatter still needs to carry too...:cool2:

:guilty: I'm so sad it is over!!! I have enjoyed all of your photos & I love your writing style. I'm SO glad you got your camera back!! By the way- I watch Dexter, so I appreciated that reference. ;) I will definitely be subscribing to your PTR!

Even though I knew you must have gotten the camera back (you posted pictures of the Pirate Cruise...), I was still on the edge of my seat reading this chapter! :rotfl2:

Denise

Yes...:lmao:...the fact that I was able to post those photos was a bit of a give away...but I just wanted empathy for the trauma of the experience and I knew I would get it here...:lmao:...:grouphug:

Thanks ME...:goodvibes and you may "borrow" any thing you'd like...(I have done plenty of my own borrowing from the boards...like I told CP-steal or even plagarism are such ugly words...I prefer borrow...and feel free whenever...:lmao:

The Sweet little Plaza...kind of wish I could have lunch there today...:cloud9:

Patricia...

I would have been completely freaking out w/ you on that one....

sorry your last few hours in MK were disrupted by the missing camera...but the magic kept on going :goodvibes

J~

Hey Julie,

Yeah I have a feeling quite a few of us could have had a freakfest...:scared1:...:lmao: but everything ending magically imho...:goodvibes

Yes for finding the camera!!!!!:thumbsup2

Boo for having to leave....

The Plaza is becoming a must try......

Jordan---definitely try the Plaza OOP...nice place...keeping my fingers crossed for your trip...and hoping your work stress abates...

Always Boo for having to leave...:sad1:

I would considering living there if I could...in the MK that is...;)

:guilty: I'm so sad it is over!!! I have enjoyed all of your photos & I love your writing style. I'm SO glad you got your camera back!! By the way- I watch Dexter, so I appreciated that reference. ;) I will definitely be subscribing to your PTR!

Hey April...is that 2nd ticker new...I knew about the January trip...but is that Christmas trip with John new...?...:cool1:

I have to get over to your P/TR...

I just recently starting watching Dexter...

I really enjoy it...(well not so much the grisly parts but the dialogue...his internal dialogue...is very clever/very witty...I get a huge kick out of him...I think I would actually like him if it wasn't for his ummm...problem... and even as it is...I find myself thinking he's not such a bad guy...unless you're a BAD guy or /gal...that is...;)

hi just read in some of your replies about Em having the Felicity AG doll...that is one of the dolls Aldine has, she also has Josefina (that was her first) She wants to get some of Kirsten's clothes or accessories for Christmas before that doll and her line is retired at the end of this year. In just a few weeks Mae is turning 7 and for her b-day she is getting her first trip to the AG store downtown and tea there too. I think she has her heart set on Ruthie, Kit's bf.

I love these dolls...Does Em still have her's out or is it all packed up :confused3

Hey J,

Emily first started collecting Molly because there was a rumor that they were phasing out Felicity...but she really wanted Felicity and they brought her back...she has a lot of the accessories and she has them packed up lovingly in her closet...she said she wants to hold on to them and give them to her daughter or grandaughter some day...(everyone once in a while she takes them out to play/look with...:goodvibes-she also has the bitty Baby and a lot of those accessories too...

She actually w/the help of her dad sold her Molly stuff on ebay-she did well-her things were well taken care of...

BTW...I love the Josefina doll-such cool accessories for her...I feel in love with New Mexico when we were there -I actually considered buying her myself...

Awww...lucky Mae...lucky you...wish I could go to another AG birthday...:cake:
