We ate around the world and had a great time, although were surprised by some disappointing meals that we had not expected to be that way.

Crew Members - Me, DH (we are both pretty adventurous, DS 13 (thinks he is more adventurous than he realy is, although he is getting better) and DD 10 (would live on chicken nuggets and fettucine alfredo and be perfectly happy - ate mostly kids meals and was not happy when forced to eat adult ie: CRT) We ended on a bad note with a stomach bug that hit us all at differing time in our last three days, and left us with a lot of unused credits.

Ate at:
Captain Cooks - Breakfast
Ohana - Dinner
Chef Mickeys Dinner
ABC Commissary - lunch
Flame Tree BBQ
Bakery Place in AK by the Safari
WCC Dinner
Wolfgang Pucks Express - lunch (twice)
Tangerine Cafe
Marrakesh (Christmas Day)
Mexican counter service in Epcot
Sunshine Seasons - lunch
Spoodles - dinner
Boardwalk Bakery - breakfast
BC marketplace - lunch
Chefs de France - dinner
CRT - dinner
Pizza Planet - lunch
Hurricane Hannahs - lunch
Biergarden - dinner
1900 Park Fare - Breakfast
50's Prime Time - dinner
Le Cellier - dinner
Tutto Italia - dinner
Beaches and Cream - lunch
Goofys Candy Co.
Earl of Sandwich - day after purchase - not good - thrown out
Cape May - I was sick in the room, and one by one everyone left with the same complaint, but said the food initially looked good.

I think that covers it - I will keep posting reviews as time permits, sorry no pics but ask away - we have put down our deposit for DVC so next few days will be spend squirelled away on those boards, but will be back.... I got such great info from here before we left it's only fair to give back.

There is just way too much food to eat on the DDP, I don't think we will do it again, especially with the changes to the plan in 2008. We did have some fabulous meals though, but I would have been very choked if we had to pay OOP for some of the bad ones... and we had a few.

You ate at quite a few places that we have never tried and are considering for our next trip.

Sign me up!

Captain Cooks Breakfast - DH and DS had breakfast plate, was okay although they thought very greasy, DD had Mickey Waffle which was as always great and I had the Tonga Toast. I was really, really looking forward to this but really didn't get why it was so great - it was definitely OK - maybe I just had it too built up in my mind. Everyone else tried it and we all came to the same conclusion. This was our only exp. with CC - very small, crowded - if I hadn't learned how to order from the boards before going there, it would have been very confusing.

Ohana - this was our first time back since 2003 - really enjoyed the experience, service and entertainment was great - food was okay - turkey was very good, steak was tough, sausages were dry, shrimp were good, salad was good - dessert was double delicious! Enjoyed it while watching Wishes. Although we had fun, unless we were on the DP probably would not go back.

Chef Mickeys - we were anticipating a "not so good food experience" based on stories here and the food last year but since it's on our not to miss list we gave it a chance - we were pleasantly surprised - food was very good - loved the cold shrimp and scallop salad, prime rib was good and rare - service was great - good character interaction. DS had his birthday here and he got a birthday cupcake and a great take home laminated placemat. Oops almost forgot the salmon - fabulous, I ate enough salmon and scallops to pay for the entire families meal!

Great start to your reviews. Sorry to hear the Tonga Toast didn't live up to expectations :sad2:

WE also got hit with the bug when we were on the DDP. Losing credits eliminated any cost benefit for us.

We left behind 5 TS and 7 Counter Service - managed to buy 27 bags of candy and junk (yes, count them, 27 - yikes! to use up the snack credits) - complete was of money..

ABC Commissary - grabbed food and ate while sitting waiting for the parade to start (excellent parade by the way! - and totally off topic, DD was very disappointed by the HSM show - Disney is so always over the top and this was pretty low key).
Cuban Sandwich with plantain chips - sandwich was pretty small but good but the chips were horrible - little broken up pieces that tasted like they were weeks old. An Asian Salad that was very good and a burger (standard theme park fare), only allowed fountain drinks on DDP and chocolate mousse for dessert (good) - We usually always got three meals and shared them - even then, it was usually too much food. I really wanted to try the flatbread place as we never have, but never did manage to find it the whole trip. We will not do ABC any more.

Flame Tree BBQ - shared ribs and chicken and I think a salad (?) - ribs were dry for me but DS pounded them back, chicken was good, beans were good, corn muffin was dry and tasteless - desserts were great, key lime pie, frozen lemonade and ... I can't remember... Love the fact that there is always seating here, it doesn't seem to matter how busy the parks are. Again, more food than we could eat.

Bakery Place at AK - did this on our last none sick day. At park opening we went straight to the safari ride, there was no wait so super happy then DS left his beloved lanyard in the car (both kids just started trading this trip and became completely hooked) and we had to wait for it to come back around to look for it so were left with half and hour to wait - what to do then? Eat!! This was the best coffee I had the whole trip, even better than Kona - a great cappucino, shared a cheese danish (past delic - best we've ever had) and sticky bun (okay, pretty heavy, not too much taste) DS had the best bagel he's ever had (lovely and chewy) and DD had a basic blueberry muffin, good but the same as sold all over WDW. It was a nice pleasant, although stressful wait, but all ended well and he got his lanyard back.

WCC - really enjoyed this place, we had an early ressie - 4:40pm - and was concerned that there wouldn't be too much going on, but it was stil fun - by the time we left though it was definitely into high gear. Due to the boards, I had an idea what to expect, and what to do to get some attention - we had a giant pop brought out, straws chucked at us, 10 bottles of ketchup, DS had his hat taken off, I got abuse for my universal shirt - we had more but can't recall right now. Boy, WL is a beautiful resort, would sure like to stay there, considering buying some DVC points there... food was very good, DS and I had the platter, excellent food, loved it all especially the ribs, had seconds on those, pork was really good too, DH had prime rib which he also enjoyed and he munched on the platter too, no one seemed to care. I think DD had her usual fingers and fries. DH had the chips and dips for app which we shared, we would skip this next time, chips were stale (how can this happen in such a busy restaurant?? and the dips were very basic) Deserts were fabulous - apple pie, kahlua chocolate cake... can't remember what the third one was but I was so mad I couldn't finish them, they were sooo good. You really have to be in the mood to have fun though, if not you would not enjoy this place in the least. This was right before we went to MVMCP and as another offside this is not something we would do again. For the money we paid for the tickets, the only additional thing we got was free hot chocolate and cookies which we were too full to eat. We enjoyed MNSSHP way, way more.

Just remembered we ate at Maras when we went to check out the construction of AKV - really like AKL, love the theming, just hate the remote location.

Food was really great,
shrimp and fries, large portion, cooked to order, shrimp were nice and big, african stew in a bread bowl - loved this, with a coconut, curry base - bread bowl was super fresh - reminds me.. this is one recipe I have to find.
cheese flatbread - very thin crust, I think it had some whole wheat in it, cheesy, I thought it was very bland but DD10 loved it.
DS10 had his burger and fries and was very happy.
Zebra Domes for dessert, as always heavenly and the carrot cake was great, dense, moist and great cream cheese icing.
It is a great food court, huge, seems well laid out although we were there at around 2pm, so was quiet.
Could not get smoothies on the DDP though, not even for dessert which was too bad although all bottled drinks were up for grabs.
This was one of the best counter service we had.

Ah... Wolfgang Puck Express - our favourite counter service but this year it did disappoint - no creme brulee - my favourite CB in all of DW bar none. Was not available on either visit.

Did have the cheese pizza both times, so good - even my son who hates tomatoes on his pizza (tomatoes in any form except pizza sauce and ketchup) agreed that they enhanced the pizza, love the goat cheese on it.
Spicy Chicken Pizza - not as good as the bbq chicken pizza (which we had on the second visit) but still good. Love the fresh cilantro on both.
Knife and Fork Chicken Ceasar Salad - dd10 loved this, really a chicken ceasar salad on a pizza crust.
Knife and Fork Beef Salad - had this both times, was great - beef was tender and rare, although not a lot of meat.
Cookies and brownies we took with us, nothing to write home about. You are only allowed fountain drinks, or tea, coffee.

Love the fact that this is a combo counter/ts for a cs price and credit. When we go back without the DDP we will come here for dinner.

As we were moving resorts we had cs we had to use up so bought sandwiches at EOS to take back to eat the next day. I know lots of people here do that and eat them on the plane, but we found them really unappetizing the next day and threw them out. I have had them fresh before and they were very good so not dissing the place as a whole....

Thanks for sharing your reviews, I can't wait to go back to WCC! It's one of my favorites!:thumbsup2

First of all we went for apps to Mexico for TS- on combo platter and one nachos, two churros, two fountain drinks.
Nachos were a total bummer, small amount of jarred cheese whiz (tasted like cheese whiz), bit of chili which we all fought over, some tasteless refried beans. Combo plate was better, but still all tasted the same. Churros were great.

Tangerine Cafe in Morocco for entreees- two combo plates, with pita instead of the bun - fabulous food as always - loved it all. Food, dessert, atmosphere.

Then just to ensure we had enough Moroccan on Christmas Day we went to Marrakesh for dinner. We were really looking forward to eating here, had often though of it on other trips but it never fit in. I have to be honest, it did disappoint. We were seated up front as requested (although twice they tried to seat us in the back) it was very, very loud and the seats are very close together. We might as well as have been at a Biergarden table. DS got the Taste of Morocco and the three of us shared two apps platters and two Night in Casablancas. For dessert we got the Bastilla (horrible) and the pastries (delish). Food was okay, but not great, seemed to taste all alike (I know that doesn't make sense but that's how I remember it). The belly dancer was very tame, I realized it's a family restaurant but it could have been a wind up doll up there. Sadly we will not be going back. Service was okay, they forgot several things, including appetizers, and we never seemed to have one person we could ask for things, we must have had four or five people at the table.

Glad we tried it though. One thing I appreciate about the dining plan it that it seems when I prepay meals, and we have a disappointing one, we don't get as uptight about it as when we have to pay the actual bill after the meal. No, what a waste of money that was! We react in a "oh well, one restaurant to cross of our list when paying OOP". Wierd....

Really enjoying your reviews. Shame about Marrakesh. I understand what you mean about disappointing meals on the DDP - it is so much easier to brush off a disappointing meal when you're not bringing out cold, hard cash at the end of it :rotfl:
