Here's a quick review of where we ate on our T-giving trip (we got back today and I'm POOPED! ;) )

Wednesday (arrival day) - Poly Luau

I have seen this get a bad rap on these boards, but personally, we LOVED it! DH and I had done this before (1996) but this was first time to take the kids. The food was yummy and the show was GREAT!

Thursday (Thanksgiving) -

Quick breakfast at POR food court (I think I had a muffin??)

Quick lunch at Casey's Corner - yummy hot dogs!

Dinner at LTT - WONDERFUL! Food was excellent, as was character interaction. Being T-giving just made it more special!

Friday -

Breakfast at Boatwrights (POR) - food was good, service a little slow

Lunch at ABC Commissary - food not bad, but not delicious - I had a burger that was a little dry.

Dinner at 50's Prime Time - we love this restaurant! We hadn't planned to eat a late lunch, but we did and weren't very hungry, but didn't want to miss this fun place! So we went and had soup and sandwiches and milkshakes - delicious! And very fun - saw a boy have to stand in the corner for being a tattletale! :D

Saturday -

Breakfast at Donald's Breakfastasaurus - this was a totally unplanned, spur-of-the-moment meal - we walked up and were able to be seated within 20 minutes! Food was good, as were characters. Wish I could have eaten more for the price, but that's OK. :D

We drove out Saturday afternoon. Sorry these aren't more detailed - I'm happy to answer ANY questions, tho!

Thanks for the review. Sounds delicious.

One question---what is LTT?

Glad you got to Liberty Tree Tavern. It is absolutely our favorite place...and I can only imagine how great it was on Thanksgiving Day....memories for a lifetime!!!

We will be at LTT on the 19th. I'm very excited. Thanks for your review...I'll be sure to post when we get back on the 23rd.

Were the characters in Christmas attire for Donald's? How was the interaction there? The food? Thanks!

The characters had on some Christmas attire & the interaction was great. I was especially pleased with our CM, he played a few practical jokes & was great to let us know when to go to the buffet & when to stay at the table because the characters were close. It was expensive but worth it; not because of the food but the environement.

I agree with everything ctrimble said - it was just like that for us, too! :D

Great! Thanks so much, we will be there next Tuesday and can't wait! Tonia

This just highlights our special meals for the week. Party of 5 - Three adults and two teenagers - 15-16 YO

Saturday night - Tony's Town Square Restaurant. We had perfect porch seats for Spectromagic and our food and service was outstanding!! The steak was cooked to perfection and all of the pasta and seafood was heavenly!! Great restaurant.

Sunday night - Dinner at Cape May Buffet. All of the food was fresh and delicious. The steamed mussels, oysters, and shrimp were plentiful and done well, no steamed clams though. One change from the last time we ate there was that I remember the deserts being done in bite sized pieces so you could sample several, this time they were full pies or cakes, so it was harder to get just a bite of several things.

Monday Lunch - Rainforest Cafe - Animal Kingdom. A lot of people have blasted this place, but we enjoy it. We had burgers, and Magombo Shrimp, and their soup and everything was delicious, fresh, and good service.

Tuesday evening - Rose & Crown Restaurant - United Kingdom, Epcot. Dinner and service was good, however, we requested a porch table, and they crowded three of us onto a tiny table meant for two people. We did have a good view of Illuminations, but the general atmosphere was not as accomodating to allowing your evening to be relaxing or special.

Wednesday evening - dinner at Flying Fish. This was a flop. The meals were good, but way overpriced, and limited menu. Not a good value. My oldest son ordered the scallops and got five little scallops on some weird tasting sauce. Poor kid had to go to the hotel and order a pizza.

Thursday - Thanksgiving - We originally had made Thanksgiving reservations for Artist Point, but decided to cancel them. We had the turkey dinner special at All-Stars and it was really good. We had turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, rolls, vegetables, cranberry sauce, and a choice of pumpkin or apple pie for only $12.99, a real bargain.

Friday - late morning - Breakfast Buffet at Boma at Animal Kingdom lodge. Wonderful atmosphere, great selection on the buffet and their special juice was delicious. Everything was hot and fresh and I tried some of the African breakfast dishes, and they were delicious! The Animal Kingdom lodge is beautiful!!!

Saturday night - Dinner at Biergarten Cafe in Germany at Epcot. This was also very good! There was lots of selection of very German food, and also some general stuff for the picky folks. The entertainment was good and the recreation of a German village was great!! Spetzel and Lentl Gravy with Bratwurst!!! Yum!!!

General Counter Service - Most was very good and quick. Especially good was the Corn Chowder soup at Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. Breakfast at the All-Star Sports Food Court was easy and quick as long as you got there before 8am. Our slowest service was at the Mexican Cantina at Epcot and Catalina Eddie's at MGM.

Any questions??

Glad to hear you enjoyed the luau. It is something I've always wanted to do and despite the negative comments we booked it for our upcoming trip. Your comment that you really enjoyed it makes me feel better.:D

We checked in about 20 minutes early for our PS at the Prime Time and only waited about 10 minutes. It did not seem overly packed, as it did when we went 2 years ago. I love it when they call, "Kids! Come to dinner!" :D

Enjoyed your reviews! Thanks!

How early can you make reservations (PSs) at LTT for Thanksgiving? Thanks

Thanks for the reviews!

We haven't eaten at 50's Prime Time since '96, but are eating there next week. The kids never wanted to eat there. When I told them I had PS for SciFi(which they loved), DD said "I was hoping we could go to 50's"

Why didn't you tell me?!?! So, I made PS there, too:D
