Hiya boys and girls! Me, hubby, mom, and grandmother got back Saturday from our first roadtrip to Disney World from Dallas, and we survived to tell about it. Yes, I work for an airline, and after numerous flights to Orlando, we decided to hit the highway for a Disney adventure.
We checked in to two studios at Boardwalk on Saturday, March 19 at around 10am. Our rooms were not ready yet, but we were given an idea of the general area. We ended up in rooms 2061 and 2054 around 3pm. Overall, the rooms were in good condition; however, my mother commented that she thought more attention could have been paid to the bathrooms. After a closer inspection, I agreed as there was a unsettling amount of mold gathered behind the toilet in their room (2054) near the tub. Further, the corners all seemed to be missed for some time as they were a bit grimy. The furniture and bedding all were in good shape. Room 2061 overlooks the lawn facing the boardwalk area. After a few nights, hubby and I decided that we definitely did not want to get a room in that area again. All night we heard bouncing basketballs or rolling carts. Actually, the carts ended around midnight or so and then started up again around 5am. I'm talking really loud carts rolling over the cobbled walkway below! Just a tad too noisy for us.
The parks were clean, crowded, and a whole lot of fun. Even with grandma in a scooter (or wheelchair at times) we were able to see and do everything we desired. The new stunt show at MGM was awesome!
Bus service from Boardwalk was very disappointing on this trip as two different mornings we were waiting at 6:10 am for a Magic Kingdom bus only to wait until 6:50 for one to show up. The park opened at 7am on both mornings!
All in all, we had a super-great trip, and I'm ready to start planning the next Disney venture!
