We were at POR last week celebrating our 10th anniversary. We LOVED it!
We took Magic Express from the airport and arrived around 9 pm on Saturday (9/22). Checked in immediately and set off to find our room. We got a room in Aligator Bayou as we requested but it seemed far away. It was Room 3821. When we got there we fell in love! We were upgraded to a Riverview King Bed room! It was maybe a 3-5 minute walk to the main bldg. we did have the North Depot bus stop behind us but we only used it once.
Housekeeping kind of stunk! I felt like I was overtipping them. All they did was make the bed and leave us more towels. There were towel animals in the room when we got there and we left them when we went home.
Forgot to add that we landed at MCO at 7:40 pm, we were the 3rd stop to get dropped off, and were checked in by 9:10 pm. We did not get our luggage, however, until 1:40 am!!
Also, used Garden Grocer this trip. Order was scheduled to arrive between 6-8 pm on Sunday. Got back to the room at 10 pm. No message and no groceries. Called the Front Desk and Bell Services. Finally got a call from Bell services around 11 pm and they brought my box up to my room. 2 nights in a row they were knocking on our door late at night!
Ate at the food court and the restaurant. Food was good.
Bus service was good. I hated the lack of lines at the bus depots so people seemed to crowd towards the entrance to the busses. Busses came pretty quickly, never had to wait. Only had to stand 3 times I think. We used cabs a few times to avoid the crowded busses or if we were going resort to resort for a meal.
DH made friends with ALL the bartendars at the resort!
He'd watch sports and make friends at the pool bar while I was taking my afternoon nap/shower. And a few nights we went to the lounge/bar inside the main bldg. Saw Bob Rivers one night too. A little too cheesy for my taste (and LOUD!) but he really packed a crowd every night! The kids really seemed to love him too!
That's all I can think of at the moment. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them!
