Hi everyone!
Just got back late yesterday afternoon - VERY jetlagged ..... there is an 8 hour difference between Vancouver and UK and didn't get any sleep on the long flight home..... partly because the guy sitting in front of me sang ..... yes SANG!!! ... for the ENTIRE flight back. ( How I longed for one of those " We don't stand any nonsense on our flights BA flight crew.. but we were on Air Canada  )

Had a great time - firstly we stayed in Toronto - 'did' the CN Tower, went to Niagara Falls as well as meeting up with some good friends.
Then we flew West to Calgary and stayed in Banff, Jasper, Sunpeaks and Vancouver and then Victoria on Vanouver Island where we did some whale watching ( there are several pods of Orcas ( "killer" whales), plus greys and humpbacks there).

I mastered my fear of heights on mountain gondolas and mountain peaks in the Rockies, ( did the inevitable Julie Andrews impression ...... as one does), and was one with nature - saw a black bear, moose and various deer.

Have a new (WDW) ambition! We got very close up to the Carnival Spirit Cruise liner in Vancouver Harbour and waved them off on their cruise to Alaska - I've never been attracted to cruises before but that did inspire me...... those ships are awesome!! So the new ambition is to go on one of the Disney cruises.

I'm looking forward to catching up on all your news - not least, the Great Northern Meet!!!!!!!! First reports tell me that everyone had a WONDERFUL time! Did the Great Stringer behave himself??

Welcome Home Shirley, Glad to hear you had a wonderful time (sorry to hear about the singing though) !!! I hope we don't get anyone like that on our flight when we go to Florida in October.

Good to see your name back on the threads though :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi Shirley and welcome home, good to have you back, I've missed you, it seems like you've been gone an age!

Glad you had such a wonderful trip - it sounds amazing! So, a cruise next on the holiday agenda then?!! :)

Bad news about the singing chap though - for goodness sake what was he singing??????? That's even worse than someone reclining their seat for the whole flight!!"

Did Kevin behave himself - hmmmm ...... read the report and judge for yourself!!

Sounds like you and Naveed had a wonderful trip - I will have to get working on Kev to give Canada a try!. Trouble is if it means missing a trip to WDW I think I will be in for a long wait.

Dave SD - how dare you - I was very well behaved as you know -after all someone has to keep an eye on Kev and make sure he behaves himself.

Tammy

It sounds like a wonderful trip, Shirley!

I'm hoping to do some gentle persuasion on DH ;) to 'do' Canada next summer, so all those great experiences you had will help my cause (I may leave out the bit about the singing though!).

Aunty Shirl and Naveed - what an fantastic time you've had . . . really can't wait for the trip reports from those weeks:)

Our friends went over last year (sister's over there, married to a Canadian) and they had a superb time too, pretty much did what you guys did, how I envy you the mountains, the whales, the moose, bear etc. Did you have any time for sleeping;)

Great to have you back:Pinkbounc

Welcome home Shirley!

Look forward to reading all about it!

Hi Shirley!

Welcome back - you've been gone ages!

Looking forward to hearing about the trip.

Shirley,

I am glad you enjoyed Canada. The northern part of North America is indeed a lovely place, which often goes unnoticed by my countrymen.

My Mrs and I have been to Vancouver and Victoria and absolutely loved them!

Cheers,

Bill

Hello Shirley  I've missed you! I'm going to post in green because that's what I am - with envy of course! My in-laws visit Canada often - only for flying visits of 2-3 days at a time as Dad-in-law goes there on business, but from what they've told me, it's high on my list of places I want to visit. They're retiring at the end of next month and we keep nagging them to spend some of their ill-gotten gains on taking us there!

Anyway, great to have you back and looking forward to hearing more. What's with that bloke singing? Did you join in? I think I might have had an accident with my orange juice! Whoops, sorry sir!

Welcome home, good to know you had a great time.
Then we flew West to Calgary and stayed in Banff, Jasper, Sunpeaks and Vancouver
Sounds like part of our hol next month. Then, we do actually go on one of those ships - another "holiday of a lifetime"!

Jan ;)

Hi Shirley!

Sorry I'm late to this thread, but I've been away myself, but not to anywhere as fab as Canada!

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip, and I don't blame you for falling in love with the cruise ship - amazing sight aren't they?

I can't believe that the cabin crew let a man sing all the way home!

Nice to have you back :D
