We were at the Fort from June 18 - June 28 with our popup. Assigned to the 800 loop, site 854. Had a bit of trouble backing in our trailer so we opted to push it in with the help of a CM (very nice) - after he finished with us, he got into a vehicle that was going into a site across from us - the lady had never backed it in before, so he did it for her - again, very nice.

It was bloody hot, but we got set up and then decided to check out things - we quickly realized we would need a golf cart which we were able to rent the following day for the duration of our stay.

We never used the internal buses (purple, orange, yellow) so I can't comment on those. The other buses were pretty slow, but we didn't feel like driving. One night we went to Downtown Dis and it took us 1 1/2 hours on the bus to get back. Another day we waited 45 minutes for a bus to Animal Kingdom - this seemed to be the norm.

The evening boats to MK and the Contemporary were also very slow - meaning the lines were long to get on the boat and made for long waiting as well. We tried to time our travel around this. Not complaining, just stating was happening.

I ran into one person in MK with a green mickey on her backpack and attempted to make conversation, but she wasn't really up for conversing - why put the green mickey on if you don't want to talk to others?

Bottom Line is, we definately will return to the Fort. I almost forgot the mention a big +++ - very clean bathrooms! The only thing I'd like to see changed is a place for a quick service meal and a pool renovation with slides.

Great trip!

Welcome home! Although, I hate coming home - it's so depressing. We're heading to the Fort mid- Nov. Can't wait. :woohoo:

Welcome back. ;)
I'm glad you were able to rent the golf cart. I think that traveling to other resorts or to Downtown Disney via the bus system is pretty slow whether it be from FW or any of the resorts. Almost always quicker to drive, if you have a car available to you.(Guess you found that out the hard way.) Nice that you encountered some helpful castmembers.:thumbsup2
