We got back Saturday from our first trip during the Christmas/Ney Years time(12/29 -1/4). We had several wonderful moments. First was at checkin - we had a 2BR standard view for every night except NYE. I asked if it would be possible to not have to change rooms - I was willing to let someone else have an upgrade on my points just so we wouldn't have to move on the 31st and again on the 1st . They said we would not have to move (thanks Abby!) but we would have to get new keys on the 31st and again on the 1st. Knowing we weren't facing two moves really relaxed us from the start. The decorations at the resorts and parks were great! We saw the CP at EPCOT and loved it. The "snow" at the Osbourne Family light show was the perfect touch. We also liked the sign in downtown Celebration advertising snow at 7:00 PM! The Illuminations dessert party that Maddy and Janet arranged was wonderful - best view of Illuminations I've ever had. It was nice to meet and talk with fellow DVCers. It was very nice to be at BWV for NYE when it started raining at about 7:00. We went back to the room until about 11:15 and came back with ponchos to a noticably smaller crowd for the fireworks. The only downside for us were the crowds. We go often at spring break but that was nothing compared to the crowds the week of NYE! We used fast passes to do our favorites and took in several shows that we hadn't seen before. Thank goodness for DVC and annual passes for this year. We heard several people onthe busses and monorails complaining about feeling ripped-off for paying so much for tickets and only being able to to 3 or 4 things because of the lines - including lines for food. We used our kitchen quite a bit. All in all a great trip as always , but I don't think we'll be regulars at this time of year.
