Back from 3weeks at WDW, cruise and universal....any questions please ask away! Was up-graded from standard to preferred view at BWV and fell in love with OKW!

Deb,

Glad you had a good time! How was the cruise?

I'm sorry....did you say something? I seemed to have gone into daydreaming right after you mentioned 3 weeks!!!:p

Tell us about the BWV check-in. Did they upgrade you because they were re-habbing Standard rooms and didn't have enough? To my knowledge, DVD never overbooks accommodations at a resort.

And was there anything in particular that you loved about OKW?

Did you do the 3,4 or 7 day cruise? What deck were you on? What made you "fall in love" with OKW?

Well, we were on the 4 night cruise, in room 7010 which was cat 8 on deck 7. We had a large porthole(bigger than expected!) and the room was fine, very quiet. We are booked into the room next door for the 2004 Xmas cruise! ha! ha! The first night we had high winds and rough seas an lots of people were sick(me included) but once out into the bahamas we had clear blue skies, clam seas and sunshine all the way so were very lucky! We went on the Blue Lagoon Beach day excursion at Nassau and then spent the day on the family beach at CastawayCay. It was the first time that we had cruised and it was fantastic.......just that 4 nights wasnt long enough!

When we checked in at BWV I asked whether they had any standard view corner rooms which I had heard had decent views and were a bit bigger!! Anyway, they didn't and my husband said to the CM, " I don't suppose you've got a BW view have you"!!! She then looked on the computer and said that she had a nice room with a view of MGM, Swan and Dolphin etc if we would like it and of course we said yes! we were just on the corner before you tirn round onto the boardwalk itself! Lovely view! A big perk as we were expecting to be looking out onto the entrance!

We loved OKW for a number of reasons. I think firstly the size and layout of the units was great, the bigger tub and the setting. It was so relaxing and we found there was a real community feeling, everyone was so friendly and chatty by the pool etc. I could have happily have lived there!!!!!!!

Any more questions fire away!

So glad to hear a BWV actually liked OKW! So many seem to blast it as "has been" resort. Your impression of it is exactly why we love it so much!

Your trip sounds wonderful! I have never really had a desire to do a cruise, but I can see doing it sometime in the future.

I saw on TV or on a post or maybe even dreamed it up that there is a little known dinning experience on the cruise that you have to book early. Costs an extra $10 per person I think I remember, and it is supposed to make for a memorable evening?

Anyone know what I am talking about and can shed some light on it?

Tommy,
FOr $5 pp you can eat at Palo. Which is a adult's only restaurant on DCL. We have dined their quite a few times. The first time we didn't like it so much. Then the next year we went back and absolutely loved it! It was wonderful. We were married on the cruise and we had our weddng dinner there. If you ever go on a cruise - try it!

Kelly
