Back From Big Easy-Mishap Central w/PICS--update 9/11 (DAY 7-LAST DAY)

When we got back to the cabin we relaxed for a little bit and before long it was time to go get the cake. DH and DS10 decided to go get it by themselves and of course in the golf cart. I stayed in the cabin and caught this picture....while I was waiting.

When they returned I opened up the cake to take a picture, and they spelled my DD1's name wrong. They only put 1 'N' instead of 2.....Oh well, wouldn't you know it. There isn't anything we can do right now so let's not worry about it. Yeah it ticks you off, but it would be more hassel than its worth to try to get it fixed and it probably wouldn't come out right if they try to fix it.

We just had more left overs for dinner (Baked Ziti, the Marinated Chicken and whatever else was in the fridge) and then time for the cake... It looks so good I could hardly wait..

And here she goes ready to dig in and make a mess...What's a first bithday without getting cake all over you.

And here is what it looked like after we cut it. The filling in between layers was a white chocolate mouse....mmmmmmm...so good.

Next: Campfire

After cake and all, she did not last very long before she fell asleep. And I wanted her to go to the campfire to see Chip and Dale.. Oh well.. Since she fell asleep, DH said he would stay there with her and the 2 older boys didn't want to go, so it was just me and DS10 and DD6. We hopped into the GOLF CART and headed toward the campfire.. We got there and there was nobody there.. We were to early, so we drove the golf cart around a little bit and then came back. Now there is a few people so we decided to go on it and get a seat.

While we were waiting I took some pictures.

We decided not to stay for the movie as it was 102 Dalmations which we had already seen about a hundred and two times. So then since now it was dark we decided to drive around and look at some of the campsites that were decorated. I took a pic of this one. Someone had neon lights made up as MM and Goofy and put them up in the front window of their RV. I though it was pretty cool.

Then we went back to the cabin, watched somemore movies and called it a night. No Pool tonight.. we were pretty tired...

Next up: DAY 7 (last full day) Pin trading Adventure #2, Endeavor Take off...

Your daughter is so cute. Cake and a nap, sounds like a perfect 1st birthday.

Campfire in 100 degree heat?? Yaaaay! You could have probably just held the marshmallows up to the sun and had the same results. Looked fun though, me loves toasted marshmallows!

Cake was great. I would definitely do that again. Even though Conceirge was trying to get me to save $ & get Publix or WalMart. They couldn't make a cake like that.

Well this particular day was somewhat uneventful. Everyone was starting to get kind of bumbed now. We had started packing some stuff last night. But when I got up this morning I started hitting it harder. Going through the food and throwing out what I knew we were not going to eat today and wasn't going back with us either. Packed all clothes but what we needed for today and tomorrow. DSS18 started taking down our tent canopy from the deck (we had one up to help block the son) and started packing it back in its bag. DH went to comfort station and filled the big cooler with ice so that it can start getting cold inside the cooler. Then drain water out tomorrow and top it off along with smaller coolers. (Large cooler for food, 2 small coolers for drinks to put between seats so that we can easily grab a drink while on the road--1 cooler for back row of seats, 1 for front and middle) Once that was all done, packed the non essentials in the back of the SUV and then went to the pool for a liitle while. After pool DS10 wanted to do one last pin trading adventure. So I informed him it was getting a little late and I wanted to get back to the FW Marina before the shuttle took off so that I could get a good view. So we decided to just go over the the WL and then come back. So we took the boat over to WL and I took some pics on the way.

We took the long way around and walked over by the Villas and entered the side door by the bus stop which puts you right at the store.

I love how the Wilderness Lodge is designed I think it looks like it belongs in the Swiss Alps or something.

Once in the store we made some good trades. I got a couple more License Plates that I needed I can't remember what DS10 got and DD6 even talked her brother out of a couple of pins so that she could do some trades. She left her pins over Daddy's house so she didn't have her's to trade with. That was nice of her brother.. That's why she did not go with us on the last pin run....

We went back through the Lobby.

Stopped by the DVC Guides desk and chit chatted with him for a little bit. He had a couple of pins DS10 liked so he traded with him. And then out the door towards the pool so that I could get a couple more pics.

Just one actually because then I looked at the time and we needed to start heading back.

Got this pic of the shipwrecked boat on Discovery Island on the way back.

We arrived at the FW docks just 15 minutes before take off. I called DH to find out if the were on the way so that we could all watch. He said he was ok and didn't need to watch, DD1 was fussy and he would stay there with her and DSS20. DSS18 started yelling in the background and I said to tell him he better hurry if he wanted to make it.

15 seconds before take off he comes running up and I asked him what did you run all the way. He said yeah, I told him well start looking here it goes.

And here are my shots, I was at the wrong angle to start off and almost didn't get it. Hince the part of the roof in the shot.

We left bright and early the next day, we were checked out by about 8:00am. Pulled into the Ponderosa on 536 (DH likes to eat there on the day we leave...Don't ask me why..??) We were on the road by about 9:30. We should have just hung out all day and left at night again. All the way, DD6 and DSS20 wanted to stop at every rest stop and go to the bathroom. DD1 did not want to sit in her car seat and screamed bloody murder most of the way back because of this. I felt a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) coming on and I was miserable. Every place we stopped did not have Cranberry Juice. Finally we got home well after Midnight because of all the stopping, etc.

And by Friday Eve husband had to take me to an Urgent Care because I was bleeding when I went Potty. I had a severe bladder infection...WONDERFUL...

I stayed at VWL not to long after they were built and really enjoyed them.

Yeah I think it was the swimming. but I agree I drank a lot less water than I usually do also.
