I got back on monday from spending 8 days in the Disneyland Hotel. It was our first time in California, so we had to spend a day in LA and a day in Seaworld as well.

We stayed in one of the new rooms in the Disneyland Hotel... Beautiful rooms :-)

We got to see WOC with fastpasses. Hopefully they will sort that system out cause that was a lot of waiting around. First to get the fastpass (which you have to get in the first 2 hours in the morning) and then meeting up and wait an hour before the show. You stand in the Grizzly River Run area away from everything and WAIT!!!

But the show is amazing and worth waiting for!

I'm not going to do a TR but if you have any question about my trip, the parks, anything, feel free to ask....
Also if you want to see pics of something (we took a lot of pictures ;)) let me know!

Welcome back.... :)

I can only imagine how long your travel time was, what with coming all the way from Denmark. How exciting too! I am so glad that you were able to visit California and Disneyland as well as other locations. I hope that you asked for your first visit buttons. :)
Please feel free to share your favorite pictures, I would love as well to see your favorites from DLP. One day hopefully I will make it there. I too would like to read more about your awesome vacation.

I like to know our perspective on going to LA and SW? Did you do a day in each? What did you see and like in LA? How did you travel around, did it work for you?

It was a long travel... Especially on the way back where we had to wait 5 hours in Amsterdam. And with the 9 hour time different, I'm still not sure what day it is! But it was fantastic to see another Disney park then DLP and WDW. I like DLP but it's nothing compared to the World and DLR. They are both perfect. Everything is so clean and perfect, a true dream world. DLP donsn't have that!
I'll post some of my pics a little later :-) If you want to see some pics from DLP, I have some picture reports in my siggy, go have a look ;)

We went to Seaworld with Grayline. They offer a free ride if you buy your ticket with them. It was so easy. We got picked up at the hotel, went to San Diego with this great driver, who knew a lot about everything. She got us into the park and told us when to be back... Couldn't have been done in an easier way!
Seaworld is my favourite theme park in the world (Yes I have to be honest :rolleyes1) I LOVE SW in florida so I was really looking forward to this. I got a little bit disappointed with the size of the park. I though it was bigger. But seeing Shamu again was fantastic and then they have one thing in San Diego which made it all worth it. The Black and White Commerson's Dolphin!!!!
I can really recommend a day trip to San Diego, It takes about to hors to there!

We also went on a half day trip to LA with Eagle tours (We got this through Disney as well) We went to Hollywood boulevard, Sunset, Rodeo Dr., Beverly Hills, The Grove and Venice Beach. These are all places you have to see, but we only had like 20 min. each place, not enough time if you ask me! We had to rush through everything, which was a shame! Our driver was a bit annoying. He kept telling his own opnion on EVERYTHING. Beside this it was a good little daytrip!

And now some pictures :goodvibes

First some pics of the new rooms at Disneyland Hotel. I know a lot of you out there want to see them :-)

More to come when I get the pics from my mom's camera :-)

Great pics, looks like a wnderful time. We have done the SeaWorld tour before and are doing it again next week. I agree- the easiest most relaxing way to get to SanDiego and enjoy SW!

I love the pics of the new rooms at DLH. It looks so modern and sleek.

We are trying to plan a trip to DL & other CA attractions for next summer. We are still trying to decide Legoland or SW. I am voting for SW just because I would just like to have glance of San Diego too. My question is about the grayline tour bus. Does the bus take you to SW, San Diego on a scenic route or is it highway to the themepark?

Sorry to butt in..we just got back from a SeaWorld /Legoland trip and well..basically hated Legoland. Have been to SeaWorld many times and still love it! The new show, "Blue Horizons" was great as was everything else.

I love your pictures! You have a very good artistic eye.

You drive on the highway most of the time, but the driver tells about the area and the things you see... In some of the way, you can see the ocean. From what I understud, a lot of Americans have never seen this, so they were really excited. I live in a small country surrounded by water, so this didn't impress me. When you get closer to San Diego you drive through this beautiful green landscape with mountains on each side. So yes, there are a lot to look at on the way even though you are on highway most of the time.

I have to agree on this. Seaworld is sooo much better then Legoland. I haven't been to Legoland in the States, but Lego is a Danish brand so we have a huge Legoland Resort in Denmark.

Thank you so much for reading and looking everyone... Keep the comments coming :goodvibes

Regarding the Legoland Seaworld "dispute" I've been to both many times and neither one is better than the other. It depends on the person. A family with young boys would ADORE Legoland. I enjoy looking at "Miniland" and could walk around there for hours. Also the lego room where you can play with more legos than you can imagine. The rides are pretty tame but then it is themed for younger children. I don't really enjoy seeing fish "caged" up so it takes the luster off of Seaworld for me. To each their own. Know your audience.

Of course we all have our own opinions about the parks... A lot of people don't like SW, just like a lot of people don't like Disney themeparks ( which of course is a WRONG opinion!)
None of us can tell other families which park will be the best for them, but we can give them our opinion, and that's what we do here on the boards :goodvibes

Glad you had a great time!

Love your pictures, thanks for sharing.

Btw, Denmark is one country I REALLY want to visit. I lived in Europe for a little while and did some traveling. Somehow, every time I planned a weekend trip to Copenhagen, life got in the way. Is it as beautiful as I imagine it to be?

I can see your point. We went with a 4 yo girl and 7 yo boy who loves Legos. Our impressions was it was more of a playground type place, where little kids could play with stuff big kids didn't want to do, and grownups couldn't really join in. The rides were overall themed carnival type, IMO of course. The efficiency, or lack thereof, was our real issue. We entered the pak right at opening and our first ride had a 45 minute wait which was duplicated around the whole park. They one vehicle going on the ride held 16 people, so we could see why it took forever to ride anything. The green apple fries were good, but why does it take 20 minutes to serve 4 people when you are at a booth that sells 1 thing? Also, although the place was geared for little kids, our 4 yo was too short for many of the rides. The landscaping was beautiful and the lego creations were wonderful, but both kids forgot about the place the minute we left.
I understand the whole animal in captivity issue is very touchy and both views have some validity, but for our 7 yo who is enchanted with dolphins, that contact (we did an encounter and tour) was priceless and educational.
If I lived by LegoLand I'd certainly go to let the kids run around, but for the price of almost a Disney ticket I felt it was way overpriced.
Just my opinion of course..
back to regular scheduled trip report :)

Thank you for your pictures. I really, really, really want a pillow made of blue velvet with gold trim, that says, "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes When You're Fast Asleep".

Thank you so much...
I'm glad that you know what Denmark is. I have met a lot of people on my trips to the States, that didn't know what (or where) Denmark was :-)
I live in Copenhagen, so I don't always understand why anyone would want to go here, but on a day like today, when the sun is out and it's nice and warm, I like my city :-)

I think the hotel shop would make a lot of money by selling these pillows ;-)
