Back Door Entry

Where abouts is this back door entry to WDW that I have heard about.
I don't know exactly where I shall be staying yet as we don't find out until we get there and collect the keys from the Virgin Service Centre - but I understand that it's probably along the 192/27 corridor.

We've been in and out of WDW about every way possible, including the road that comes in behind MK, Osceola Parkway, and Vista Boulevard (which runs past the Bonnet Creek Golf Club and Fort Wilderness' entrance); however, there is really no reason not to just come in on the main entrance roads--Epcot Center Drive off of I-4 or World Drive off of 192.

See the WDW Resort Road Map at:

Well, the most "back door" way I know to get on property is to take 435 (the road that goes past the Crossroads) away from I-4, turn left on 535, go several miles, turn left on Reams Road, and then turn left onto the property. You are then behind Magic Kingdom, and can continue around the west side of MK to the GF and such.

Not a very attractive way to enter the property, it's all warehouses and CM parking and such.

As an aside, if I remember correctly, this was the route for the construction workers when MK was first being built. There was a small store/gas station along the way, I believe at the intersection of 435 and 535, which was pretty much in the middle of nowhere at the time, and they made a fortune in beer sales.

It s true what they say that you learn something new every day. I didn't know any of that info. Thanks!!

From where you think you'll be staying, I'm going to guess that you're talking about Sherbeth (or Sherberth) Road which goes from 192 to the traffic light near Animal Kingdom Lodge. A good way to go if you're visiting Animal Kingdom or Blizzard Beach, but I'd recommend continuing east on 192 to the WDW exit for anything else.

I thought the Reams Road entrance was for CMs and official business only, and is controlled by a security checkpoint. Anyone know more about this?

well ijust typed this long long tpost and it vanished so
here is the short version
NO WDW ID no entry that direction End of story . There is no story convincing enough to allow guests backstage EVER !!!

If you're staying on the west end of 192 there is a road called Entry Point Rd. that comes out at the stoplight before AKL. I HIGHLY recommend this route to any one staying in that area, there is little to no traffic going this way, and when you're leaving at night, while most cars are headed to I-4 you'll be going the opposite way and missing all of the traffic.

Reams Road---

Nevertheless, I've been there. Just took a right turn out of the Contemporary parking lot, around MK. I've gone all the way around MK that way, and I've gone out Reams Road exit. Don't know if I've ever tried to come in that way.

We came in Reams Rd. in March. There was a security gate there and we told him where we were trying to get to, he let us thru and gave us directions.
