Hi everyone, long time no see! :wave2: After our trip to WDW in February there was meant to be no more Disney for a while - so I was avoiding the temptation of the boards but.... long story short, we got an amazing Eurostar deal through DBF's work and we're going back in 2 weeks! :cool1::cool1:

We went a wonderful 3 times in 2011/12 with our APs and thanks to all the tips and advice from you guys, but there's one difference this time, I'm a vegetarian!

So, my question is - what's the best table service / buffet options for veggies (excluding Agrabah).

Agrabah is totally my type of food. I'd eat hummus and cous cous all day. But we had a pretty bad experience there last time and which put me off and I'm reluctant to go back. Also I'd like somewhere a bit more chilled out and possibly even romantic...!

We went to Blue Lagoon pre veggie - but looking at the menu on DLRPmagic it seems there's no veggie (non fish) option in the set menus - is this correct? Are they ever willing to make substitutions to allow veggies to partake?

The other option I've always wanted to try is Walts, is it worth it if your choice is risotto or...risotto?

Likewise with the buffets, I'm a bit worried that I'd be paying 30Euros + and eating just salad leaves - are any better value for vegetarians? (That said I'm willing to get my money's worth in dessert if needed)

I know I'll get by for 3 days and there are plenty of quick service options but I'd like one 'special' meal and not sure where to spend the money!

Thanks for any advice :)

Hi,

Being a vegetarian myself, I've been studying these options before.
I feel Walt's etcetera are quite overpriced for vegetarians - over 30 euros for a plate of risotto, I don't think so!!!

The counter service pizza restaurants have veggie options, and I really like Earl of sandwich. But... THE place to go for you imho is Annette's Diner. They have the Green piece burger, a really nice big vegetarian hamburger, and a camembert salad that's even better! Good food, nice ambiance (personnel not too great sometimes though), and affordable.

Hi, I am a non fish eating vegetarian. On our last trip I really enjoyed Earl of Sandwich, Rainforest Café (twice) Annette's was o.k ,Inventions was fab and one of the reasons we are going back! didn't rate Plaza gardens ( the service or the food)

This time we are going to go for the premium meal plan so will be doing BBWWS, Inventions twice :lovestruc and Auberge with lots of Earl of sandwiches whilst the meat eaters (DH and kids) go to McDonalds.

I also like the look of Blue Lagoons veggie main course but agree will not be trying Walts risotto not really my thing!

:)

Thanks! we love Annettes so that's on the list (in fact I think I had the veggie option last time even though I wasn't veggie then!).

What kind of choice is there for veggies at inventions? I do like the sound of it.

I think we'll also return for Mickey waffles at Cafe fantasia too.we probably don't have time for all the eating I'm planning!

Hi we went in june last year but from what I remember I had salad & cheese to start fantastic bread and soup, some sort of veggie pasta some really nice cheesy mashed potato and really nice vegetables more cheese and lots of pudding!! :goodvibes

My partner is veggie, she loved the veggie option at Blue Lagoon (although I think it was the ambience she liked really) but it wasn't on the set menu. Fast food options aren't great but she loved Earl of Sandwich. We were put off in Agrabah by a fly swimming in the chocolate pudding! Not convinced we'll be back in a hurry!

Glad I found this thread as the girlfriend is a veggie (who doesn't eat fish either), and I'm planning on taking her to Inventions for the evening buffet, just wanted to be sure it was worth it? Want to have one big 'special' meal during our stay and really like the look of it...

Hi I haven't posted on here for years, but I've not long got back from disney and can say Inventions is a must for us now. Both myself and DH are vegetarian and this has been our second time eating there and it didn't disappoint.
There was salads and cheese but also a vegetable pasta, tomato risotto, lasagne a type of spanish omelet as well as 2 sorts of mix veg micky potato shapes pizza and mash potato to die for. Its well worth the money.
his time we also went to the steakhouse which we were both really surprised at how much we enjoyed it. Only 1 veggie option at moment portobello burger (roasted veg and peppercorn sauce sandwiched between 2 large mushrooms) this is serve chilled which we didn't expect and comes with tempura vegetable fries which were lovely.

chuck wagons cafe at the Cheyenne does some nice buffet stuff for veggies to when we went there, my veggie wife loved it. Although it was basically pizza, pasta and jacket potatoes it was very well done

never considered Inventions as veggie so think we will go there for a special meal. we are there over Valentines so maybe thats the place for us
