That's me. Disneyphile extraordinaire. I've only been *slight* obsessed with all things Disney since I was about 2.

Subscribing. I can't wait to read how your trip went. Just based on your cast and the reason for going, it definitely sounds like you had a great time. And congrats to you and your sister.

I'm so happy to see that I have readers! You send these trip reports out into cyber space and I'm glad that mine actually went somewhere haha.

So let's get straight to it!

Day 1 of our trip I woke up early, and usually not being a morning person, somehow I didn't seem to mind it today. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that I was getting up to catch a plane to Orlando! I was actually pretty excited about the flight itself, because although I've been to Disney several times before we always drove or took Amtrack. One thing no one can deny about Disney is just how easy they try to make everything. Just pop those magic express tags right on your suitcases, drop them off at the counter at the airport, and that's it! Then when you get to Orlando, the airport is so nice and new - and way smaller than Newark - it's easy to get around. Plus there are Disney people every couple hundred yards telling you where magic express is. The flight itself was such pleasant and short - only took 2 hours, which meant we got to Florida 20 minutes early! YAY! We were on JetBlue by the way, totally recommend them. Flying to Florida is so much less painful than flying to Europe overnight (yea I know, boo hoo poor little me had to fly to Europe.) There was a disney world thing in the airport we took our picture with, but I think it's on someone else's camera. I'll find that later.

So yada yada, we get to the airport, hop on the mini-monorail which was decorated with Halloween Disney characters (advertising MNSSHP) it was a fun little preview of what was to come.

On the way we passed through this obligatory photo-op:

I *may* or may not have had tears in my eyes at this particular moment...

Anyhoo, we hopped the magic express which was taking us to our resort - Wilderness Lodge! This was our first time ever going deluxe, and we were all really excited about it. On the ride over there we were dropped off last, so we got to see everyone else get dropped off at the other MK area resorts - Polynesian, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian. The Polynesian looks so cool - definately have to try that one someday! My sister is already planning our family reunion trip for when we have kids (that one's not gonna be for a while!) and she picked Poly lol. I was excited because I got a preview of the GF where I am staying in April on my honeymoon!

Here was my view:

She's a real beauty, isn't she? And here too:

Finally we got to Wilderness Lodge and we were all absolutely amazed. The place is just so beautiful, cozy, and serene. It was noticably quiet at our resort, even compared to some others we visited during our trip. We got to our room and found a TOWEL MICKEY! (unfortunately that photo is on my sister's camera too - I'll get that later on) Our room was really nice. We all loved the Wilderness Lodge - it was such a homey place to come back to every night after a long day.

Here are some pictures:

(notice how there are practically no people around the lobby?)

HIDDEN MICKEYS! In the carpet, these are all over the place.

I loved all the little animal details that can be found all over our resort. It was a really cute touch. I just realized that it never occured to me to take pictures of our room. I think my sister did though, so I'll check on those too.

Next stop, Downtown Disney! I better end this post before it gets too long...

We finally reached Downtown Disney! Our original plan was to explore the resort (which we did) and go swimming in the pool for a few hours before heading over to DTD for our 6:30 dinner ressie at Cap'n Jacks. However, when Magic Express says they will deliver your suitcases in 3 hours, they mean 3 hours. Without our bathing suits and flip flops, we abandoned our original plan in favor of getting on with some SHOPPING! (Which, of course, is a favorite pasttime for us girls!)

So, off to Downtown Disney! Ironically, when we were walking outside our resort to get to the buses, we saw the people unloading the ME suitcases, and there were ours, right on top of the pile.

It's a family tradition that we always go there our first day and have dinner. After hearing everything about Goofy's Candy Co on the DIS I absolutely had to make that our first stop. I love this place! I can't believe I didn't know about it before - thank you DIS!

Here are some pics of my new favorite store:

Since we had a dinner ressie at 6:30 and it was starting to get into the late afternoon, we decided to come back later to get treats made up for dessert.

Sorry for the short increments, but I have to go back to actually working now. Be back later with more SHOPPING and our dinner at Cap'n Jacks!
