Babysitting+Spoiling=?

Whenever u babysit a kid, do u tend to spoil them??? When i watch my brother and sister, they rlly get spoiled! Like right now, I am watching my brother and we're eating popsicles b4 lunch.........and, i let him sing this one song that is hilarious but my mom doesn't like it.......... I guess I like spoiling them..........Anyone else spoil the kids u watch????

Not really, I let them get away with minor stuff, but I want their parents to let me come back and babysit them. I do however dish out the ice cream and let them stay up a little late.

I think that I tend to be a little 2 nice when I'm babystting my brother. I don't let him get away w/ major thing but Minor. Like when he's grounded n he want's 2 play the PS2 I will let him just so he will stop bugging me.

I don't spoil the kids when I babysit. Like Rachel and the OP, I'm nice and all, and sometimes they can stay up a few extra minutes or have a popsicle, but I'm there to watch the kids!

Cause if the kids say they love you you are a keeper. Once I babysat a girl and she told her parents to pay me extra. I didnt even give he any idea XD

lol......thats funny! i don't babysit OTHER ppl's kids, jsut my borther and sister so i get to spoil them! they prefer me over my g-ma! they think she's evil to them...........

I NEVER spoil my brother and sister. EVER. When my parents go out, they go "Please tell us Melissa isn't babysitting " (No, I'm not THAT mean, they just annoy me)


But when I babysat teh kids across from me, I spoiled them a bit.

I TOTALLY spoil the kids I babysit for...


lunch at 10 AM, dessert about 5 times after that, TONS of sugar....


idk...i guess i think the job will be easier if i just make them happy...





i know, i know, you probably think im like the worst babysitter in the world....but i don't see the harm in spoiling them, i only babysit a few times a year, so its not like they turn into spoiled brats

i should probably say that my sisters hate it when I babysit them. I'm not crazy mean, they just don't listen. Like they get into fist fights and won't listen to me If I attempt to punish them. Then they all my mom who says they don't have to go to their room, and then I get in trouble for being mean or unfair. I think they just can't accept that I'm in charge when mom and dad are gone. The worst part is they're always begging my parents to go out, so I'm stuck with them almost every night!!

It depends on how well I know the family, but the spoiling also depends on the age of the children and things like that as well.

Very true, I don't let a 5 year old stay up till 10:00, but I'll let an older kid stay up like 1/2 an hour late. It also depends on how the kid has behaved during the night. Like if the kid threw a tantrum and wrecked my shoes then I turn the clocks to make it look like it's 1/2 an hour earlier that it actually is (JK).
