Just had to share. Babycakes made the following announcement on Facebook.

We are proud to announce that you can now find BabyCakes NYC's mini cupcakes at Disney’s newest resort - Disney's Art of Animation Resort!

When asked if they'll have offerings anywhere else besides their DTD location, here's what they responded.

Currently just available at Disney's Art of Animation Resort in their quick service location Landscape of Flavors.

I'll be at AoA in August. YAY!!!

That's fantastic news!!! :thumbsup2

I hope they can start incorporating more of their products in some of the other quick service restaurants!

WOO HOO! We are staying at POP but at least I can walk to get a treat rather having to take a bus to DTD! Thanks for sharing!

That's great! And now has me even more excited for my stay there this fall.

I have never tried babycakes for my 5 -yr-old son with 20+ allergies. Will they be offered as a snack/dessert on the dining plan? Does any one know if they can make the icing without coconut milk and coconut flour? The little bit of oil is ok, but not coconut milk or flour.

You'll want to contact them directly about the icing but I wouldn't get my hopes up. As far as I know, the only other good non-dairy non-soy option is coconut or palm oil and I don't recall any mention on their site of palm oil (there may be other options but those are the ones I'm familiar with and the most common ones). They do carry non-iced items but I don't think you'll see them at AoA.

Since the items at DTD count as a dessert option on the dining plan when eating at the chicken place or as a snack credit I would think that the ones at AoA would be included on the dining plan as well. It sounds like these are minis so I don't know if it would be one or multiple for a snack credit/dessert option but it wouldn't surprise me if it was only one.

IIRC, BabyCakes has on their site (or did at one time) that they could not claim to be tree-nut free as they used coconut in everything, and their recipes would not be possible without using coconut. So unfortunately I doubt they'd be able to do a milk & flour free version. :(

Looking at the pictures from the food court, it looks like the cupcakes come four mini ones to a pack. Hopefully a pack is what counts as one dessert or snack. I never can eat a whole cupcake or anything, so it would be nice to have the four, eat one, and save the rest for later.

Josh on easywdw.com posted a picture of them at AoA. They come 4 minis to a container. It looks like they may be a mixture of types which is PERFECT. I typically don't want a big dessert so I can see getting this and bringing the container back to my room for a snack later or even the next day or maybe splitting as a snack with my kids.

I would imagine that this counts as a single snack credit or dessert option on a CS credit since they're packed in a single unit. All other desserts in these kinds of packages count so I can't imagine that these wouldn't.

Thanks for the info. I did look at their site, and it looks like the cupcakes will be off limit, but there were some other options. I still have a long time to wait for our next trip, but I might take a trip by the shop at DTD with my son when I am down there the next time. Maybe by then there will be even more options.

There's also some pictures of the minis on the Disney Food Blog too. They look yummy. I can't wait to head over there and pick some up! I'll be curious on the price of them. :thumbsup2

Me too!

What is the name of the QS place at DTD that you can get babycakes as your dining plan dessert? I want to check out the menu there too.

I was excited when I went to Landscapes of Flavors at AoA and saw Babycakes! So delicious! I'm so glad they have them at some of the QS places now, and I hope they start having them in other food courts :thumbsup2

It is the healthy chicken place - pollo campero or something like that. I think it is on the west side of Downtown Disney.

Can anyone confirm that the BabyCakes at AoA can be purchased with a snack credit? Or as a dessert?

We'll be there next week and DD (egg allergy) is SO excited to hear she can get cupcakes at the resort!

Thanks!
