Baby Swap - how the heck does it work?

What EXACTLY do you do to make this happen? A pass? Just tell the cast member at the front of the line?

There will be a CM at the fast pass distribution spot - you show them the child you are swapping along with the adult they are with - and then they hand you a piece of paper to swap. Once you are done with the ride - you give the pass to the other adult and swap. They do not have to be used immediately, and can also be used in conjunction with fast pass.

Six weeks to go - I will see you on Shea!!!

LOL - Be sure it's me you're picking up! ;) Thanks about the swap - it always confused me.

My experience with the child swap pass is slightly different than dizzy's:
There was never a CM at the fastpass distribution spot when we were there. We asked the CM managing the ride's line for a baby swap pass on only a couple of rides (Indy being one.) It's a postcard-sized piece of bright cardstock with printing on it about how to use it.

We never all went up together to get the pass; usually DS2 and I waited nearby (sometimes even out of sight, as I went into a shop one time), and DS6 and DH got the pass and rode first. [NOTE: It's possible the CM is supposed to verify that there is another party in order to get the baby swap pass, so I'll be more conscious of this when we go again. Maybe we were just lucky the time I went shopping!] Then when they exited, DH gave me the pass, and I took DS6 for another ride. You just duck right into the Fastpass line, give the CM the card, and off you go!

I've also heard that some rides the parent NOT riding waits at the front of the line or near the exit until the riding parent disembarks, and then the other parent gets right on. Not sure which rides do which method though. On Indy, even in the fastpass line we had quite a wait; would be nice to know if we could have waited closer to the front of the line...!

Here's an interesting note on dizzy's comment, that you do not have to use the pass immediately: DH and DS6 rode Indy, and picked up a baby swap pass. I (and DS6) used it to go on right after, but the ride broke down. I asked the CM at the entrance if we could have the baby swap pass back and try again later, and he said of course. The lines were way too long later to try again, so we didn't go back. I wasn't sure it would work the next day (maybe the passes are color-coded by day or something?), but I gave it a try first thing in the morning. We were thrilled that they did take it, and we ran down the fastpass line, WOOHOO!

All of the rides that have height requirements, thus being rides you would need to swap, have a cm at the enterance. As dizzy said, they will give you a paper to use for the swap. Ask them where to return with the paper. Some rides you'll return through the exit. Other rides you'll return in the fast pass line. You can take someone with you when you ride.

Roger Rabbit was one where my 18month old fell asleep and we had to stad off to the side and when DH and DS6 came out i went on with them and my husband held the baby. Other times I just asked for a pass at the head of the line and CM handed one to me and my DS6 went on again.
