My nephew and his wife are having their first baby! Sadly, they live in England and I probably won't see their child(ren) but a handful of times in their entire lives. :sad1:

I want to send them something but I know postage was outrageous when I have sent things in the past. Could I get a gift card here that they can use there? Or is there a popular baby store in England that I could order a gift card from? Thanks!

What we do back and forth with our family in the US (we live in Germany) and Mexico is just order a gift from a webiste in the country you are sending it to. This would be very easy for you since all of the UK sites would be in English. You could try Amazon.uk or disneystore.uk or search for baby stores in the UK online. It should be pretty easy to find something nice.

You can send a gift card for amazon.co.uk. Or you could order something from Marks & Spencer or from Tesco and have it delivered directly to your nephew and his wife.

How about a Harrod's gift card?

Ironically-My mom was on a bus tour of England when my first child was born 3 weeks premature. She was in London & brought back two adorable knitted outfits from Harrod's-treasures I'll never part with.:)

If you get a Harrod's gift card, remember that unless they live in London they'll have to shop online.

We have Toys R Us here too, so you could always look on their website and see if they could deliver something from Babies R Us to your nephew's family.

Thanks for all the great ideas! They do live in London so Harrod's is an option. I am going to ask my sister which place she thinks they will like better. I think I want to go the gift card route. I hate picking out something for people that I just don't see that often. I know they won't send me info on where they are registered (assuming they are) because they would feel like that is just asking for a gift since I won't be at the shower.

What about a gift card from Mothercare - bit like the UK's Babies R Us.

www.mothercare.com - to get to the gift cards, search for "gift voucher" on the site and there are vouchers of various denominations available.

They may also be registered on there, since it is a major chain.
