I am going to a baby shower on Saturday for a friend.
I am in charge of a game & the game present.

Does anyone have any ideas of a good game?

Thanks

I like Baby Shower Bingo, where everyone gets a bingo card with different gifts in the squares. You cross them off as that gift is opened, until you get 5 in a row.

We did it at my sister's bridal shower and it was a big hit. I got a bunch of prizes from Big Lots, Dollar Store, etc, for the first 10 people or so to get Bingo.

It keeps the gift opening from getting boring at least! LOL!!

My favorite baby shower game to play is, Winner Takes All.

Winner Takes All- Take a piggy bank pass it around, tell every one to put their spare change in it. Keep telling them, 'winner takes all!'. Then, each person is given the chance to guess how much change is in the piggy bank. The person who comes the closest to the right amount wins 'All' laundry detergent and the mom-to-be gets all the money! (Seeing the winner's face was priceless!). Need piggy bank (or a decorated box) and All Detergent.

Its unexpected and fun to see the mom's face.

I don't know the name of the game...BUT...there was like a "laundry line" of all these items hung up and then the "mom" had to guess whose items they were...I'm sure someone else knows better details....I just recall laughing the entire time.....:confused3

The "Toilet Paper" game is fun! I don't know if it has an "official" name, but here is how it goes...

You need a roll of TP and pen on each table. Everyone at the table takes the roll and rolls out a length that they believe is the correct size of the mom's belly, putting their name on the length. This is accomplished by wrapping the TP around YOUR waste, and then adjusting for size as though YOU were pregnant. It is fun to do and watch, especially once mom starts wrapping the really LOOONG and super short lengths around her waist! :rotfl: Closest wins, and you have a winner for each table.

:thumbsup2

Thanks!
They are all great ideas!!

Now to find a great pasta salad recipe!

I'm usually vehemently anti-shower games but at a recent baby shower, they had one that was actually kind of fun. As we entered the room, there was a table with nine jars of baby food without labels. The table had pens and paper and you had to guess what each jar contained.

I guess it's been too long since I fed a baby because I only got a couple!

I am sure you have seen this game.. where they have a ton of items on a tray ( baby items or whatever) & you are supposed to have a few minutes looking at them,, & then write down everything that was on the tray..

only...

this time,, there was a twist.. the mommie to be carried the tray around... & when she left the room you were told it wasn't the items on the tray you were supposed to remember........ but what the mommie was wearing!!!

earrings, rings, clothing, tattoos whatever...

Please, dear lord, do not make some poor pregnant woman suffer through this. Really, it's humiliating.

There is the old stand by of everyone has a diaper pin (safety pin) attached to them. No one can say the word "baby" or whoever hears you gets to steal your pin. Whomever has the most pins by the end wins. You can also use pacifiers on a string or something like that.

Get little plastic babies, and put them in ice cubes. You have to be the first to melt the baby out. People come up with very creative ways of melting. ;)

I gave my friend a babyshower a few years ago and we played the dirty diaper game. You get different kinds of miniature candy bars and melt 1 at a time and place in a diaper, close the diaper....we had about 5 or 6 different candy bar diapers:lmao: The object of the game is to pass around each diaper and have guests guess what is in it...what kind of candy bar. They write down answers and whoever gets the most right wins. You have to # the diapers don't forget. Be careful when melting a mounds bar, it will start smoking :rotfl::confused3

So many pics of the guests :rotfl: laughing their butts off. It was fun!

I am so NOT a fan of games at baby showers. Just the thought of melting candy bars in a diaper to look like poop as a game...well, I just don't get it and it makes me a little disgusted, honestly.:confused3

I've only ever been to ONE baby shower where games were played, maybe its mostly a regional thing or something, but until I started reading internet forums, I had never even HEARD of playing games at showers. At any shower I've ever been to, everyone just chats, drinks their punch/coffee/wine and eats then watches gifts be opened...there really isn't ever TIME to spend playing organized games, and frankly I can't imagine any of my friends/family playing them even if the organizer tried to get a game of the sorts listed started.

Another one we did was take white felt and cut into small triangles (they will end up being a corsage pinned to everyones shirt). Have small decorative ribbon bows and tiny gold safety pins on hand. Fold the felt into diaper shape and pin it shut making sure you pin the back side of the diaper too. It has to be completely closed up. On one of the diapers, dab a tiny bit of yellow mustard on the dirty diaper area and close up good. Decorate with glue and bow.

Place all in a bowl or basket and have guests grab one as they walk into the party. Nobody is gonna know what they are for. They need to pin to their shirts. We actually had everyone use theirs for nametags by adding a white plain adhesive sticker on it and write their name on it.

Object at the end of the party is to have everyone check their diapers to see who has the dirty one. They get the prize!:lmao:

I see a pattern forming....I have seen to many dirty diapys in my motherhood:rotfl: Im making up games about them:laughing:

Oooo, one more....I bought 20 pacifier with the ring attached to them and stung each one with colored ribbon like a necklace. Each guest got a necklace when they arrived. Anyone who said "baby", the person who heard it, gets to take away their paci necklace. Whoever has the most at the end wins. Mom to be gets to keep all the pacifiers.

eta...I see someone already posted this one;)

Now to find a great pasta salad recipe!

a super easy pasta salad recipe (no measurements, sorry)

rotini pasta
cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
large pitted black olives, halved
fresh mozzarella balls (the small ones), halved (or other sized/shaped fresh mozz cut in cubes)
roasted red peppers, cut up in pieces similar to the other items
Kraft Zesty Italian dressing

boil the pasta, cool it. Toss with the rest of the ingredients and refrigerate (overnight if possible). The next day before serving add some more dressing b/c a lot will have been absorbed.

I agree- that is a HORRIBLE game---one shower the mom to be burst out in tears seeing the amounts of toilet paper some people took " I am as big as a whale........waaaaaaaaaaaa" yea---that was a REAL fun game for the people and the mom to be..... please....don't subject a poor pregnant lady to that torture!

I went to a shower where they played the dirty diaper game, but instead of candy bars, they put baby food in each and you had to guess what kind of baby food it was. Imagine a bunch of girls sticking their noses in the diapers to try to figure out what kind of baby food it was. Hilarious, and I don't normally like those types of games!

At my cousin's shower, we played "Guess the cost". Not a very original name, but you could change it. On a table, there were about 15 different baby items. (Lotion, pack of diapers, diaper rash ointment, etc.) Each guest was given a sheet of paper and a pencil. The hostess held up each item on the table and the guests had to guess what each item cost. We wrote that down on the sheet, and then added up the total at the end. The person with the closest amount to what was the real amount won a grab bag of fun items. The Mom to be got all of the items that were on the table. It was something different and way better than having to taste baby food! It was also a fun way for the Mom to be to get some items other than clothes. My cousin loved it! :thumbsup2

That sounds like fun! And very practical!

I vote for eating and opening gifts and skip the games. The least annoying of all of them for me is baby bingo.
