Baby/Parent Swap

Ok...I need help understanding how the baby/parent swap works. Who do you tell what you are doing when you get to a queue? We will have 4 adults in our party can 3 ride twice?? Do all rides have this option?? Where does the person with the child wait while the others are riding??

We only did this once and it was a few years ago (2001?) At the start of the line, was a cm, we asked him/her. told us to take the singles line for that ride, Test Tract. Once at the head of the line, we told each cm we approached that we were doing the "swap". 1 adult was placed into a single rider spot and the adult with the baby waited. He rode first and I held our DD4. I was allowed to pass behind the loading area and down some stairs to a display area where the riders went after the ride.
There I met up with hubbie and passed him our girl. I returned to the loading area of the ride,by climbing the stairs, and re-entered behind again. I was the single rider now and was placced at the front of the line for the next single spot to open.
I rode and met my family in the display area.
We go again this fall and have a new little one to pass back and forth! Can't wait!

we just got home on 6/26 and used child swap multiple times.
we just asked the first CM we came too for a child swap pass. DH & DD2 waited on bench etc we rode and then DD9 and DH would return to fast pass return and be sent right to front of line. We used it with and without fast passes. It worked well for us. DD9 was thrilled to get two rides on TOT, RNRC, Splash, space mt, etc.

We used this too when we went in March. We had 4 adults and 2 little ones. Dh and I would tell the CM that we wanted to do the child swap(my parents stayed with the kids) and we would ride. When we got off, my parents would then go ride. It was nice to have 4 adults so I could ride with dh and not by myself.

Tell the cast member at the ride entrance you want to do baby swap or rider switch. They'll give you a "Rider Switch" pass which is usually good for 3 people, some might be more depending on how many fit in a ride car.

This can be done for the rides that have height restrictions like Test Track, Mission Space, Splash MT, Space Mt. Big Thunder, Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster, Dinosaur, & Primeval Whirl.

As of a couple of weeks ago I think all of them you reenter at the Fast Pass Entrane with your "Rider Switch" pass. So basically it is like a Fast Pass, so if the whole group has fast passes you probably don't need it, but we would get in case our Fast passes were going to expire. If the 2nd group wouldn't make it back in time they still could use the Rider Switch pass.

The group with kids can either go ride something else, play in the playgrounds by certain rides like Mission Space & Splash Mt. There isn't really anything special, but we found riding something else the best since some rides take awhile. For example, with Soarin - one group would ride, but the other with the kids would do the Land Boat ride. It kept the kids occupied.

We do the baby swap all the time. Our children are a decade apart. We look for a CM at the entrance to the ride. It's best to ask how it works. Each ride seems to have its own way of handling the swap. We've even noticed what is done one week, changes the next, sometimes. Most of the time you're told to go in the fast pass line with the baby swap pass. Most of the passes, if not all are good for up to 3 riders. I just check the wait time and do something with the little one for that time, then come back.

My family just returned from WDW and used baby swap. We have a 14 month & 4 yr old boys. We asked the CM at the entrance of the attraction if they offered baby swap, must of them did. We waited at the entrance for our group to return from the ride, then the others in our group (up to 3) would then go up the fast pass line for the attraction. Fast pass worked GREAT for our group!
